Mahaparinirvan Diwas was observed at Hubballi Divisional Railway Office today, in which floral tributes were offered to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
Divisional Railway Manager Smt. Bela Meena, after offering floral tributes, addressed the gathering and said that Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution to the nation is unparalleled. He was not only the chief architect of the Indian Constitution but also a great thinker who dedicated his life to social justice, equality and human values. She added that Dr. Ambedkar’s life teaches the values of hard work, integrity and service to humanity. “In our daily work, we must uphold honesty and discipline and perform public service with utmost dignity,” she said.
Representatives from SWR registered unions, members of OBC and SC/ST organisations, Kannada Sangha and the Hubballi Division Women’s Welfare Organisation took part in the programme, recalling the messages of Dr. Ambedkar and reaffirming their commitment to strengthening their role in nation-building.
All senior officers from various branches, and staff members were present on the occasion.
