The historical action drama Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 is a prequel to the blockbuster Kantara and is set in 4th Century CE India. The film narrates the origin of the mystical forest land called Kantara and explores the deep-rooted traditions, faith, and folklore that shaped the land. With its grand scale, powerful storytelling, and rich cultural elements, the film has carved a special place in the hearts of audiences and made history as a landmark in Indian cinema.
The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast led by Rishab Shetty, who delivers a compelling dual performance as Berme and Mayakara. Rukmini Vasanth essays the role of Princess Kanakavathi, while Jayaram is seen as King Rajashekara, the father of Kulashekara and Kanakavathi. Gulshan Devaiah plays King Kulashekara, and Pramod Shetty appears as Bhogendra, adding strength and depth to the narrative.
The narrative centers on Berme, a fearless warrior and ancestor of Shiva, who stands up against the oppressive Kadamba kingdom to defend his people and their sacred land.
