ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಪಟಗುಪ್ಪ ಸೇತುವೆ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋವಿನ ಕತ್ತು ಸೀಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಬೇಧಿಸಿರುವ ಹೊಸನಗರ (Hosanagar) ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನಾಲ್ವರು ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಬಂಧಿತ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾವೇರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಹಾನಗಲ್ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಆಲೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಮಹಮದ್ ಸಲೀಂ ಬಾಳೂರ್ (34), ಮಕಬುಲ್ ಅಹ್ಮದ್ ಬಡಿಗೇರ (22), ಸುಲೇಮಾನ್ ಕೋಲಾರಿ (26) ಹಾಗೂ ಮಲ್ಲಿಕ್ ರಿಹಾನ್ (25) ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಹೊಸನಗರ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಹೊಸಕೊಪ್ಪ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಪಟಗುಪ್ಪ ಸೇತುವೆ ಸಮೀಪದ ಶರಾವತಿ ಹಿನ್ನೀರಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಿಗಳು ಹಸುವಿನ ಕರುವನ್ನು ಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾಂಸ ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಪರಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಸನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಸಿಪಿಸಿ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ನೀಡಿದ ದೂರಿನ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಗುನ್ನೆ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 67/2026 ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜಾನುವಾರು ಹತ್ಯೆ ನಿಷೇಧ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ–2020ರ ಕಲಂ 4, 7, 12 ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕ್ರೌರ್ಯ ತಡೆ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಕಲಂ 11(1)(ಡಿ) ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ತನಿಖೆ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರು, ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ ಉಪವಿಭಾಗದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಉಪಾಧೀಕ್ಷಕರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸನಗರ ವೃತ್ತದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ವೃತ್ತ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕ ಎಂ.ಐ. ಗೌಡಪ್ಪಗೌಡ್ರ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ತನಿಖಾ ತಂಡ ರಚಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸನಗರ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಪಿಎಸ್ಐ ಶಂಕರಗೌಡ ಪಾಟೀಲ್, ರಿಪ್ಪನ್ಪೇಟೆ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಪಿಎಸ್ಐ ರಾಜುರೆಡ್ಡಿ, ನಗರ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಪಿಎಸ್ಐ ಶಿವಾನಂದ ವೈ.ಕೆ. ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಎಎನ್ಸಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜುಲೈ 4ರಂದು ನಾಲ್ವರು ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಬಂಧಿತ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಜರುಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಕುರಿತು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ತನಿಖೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೊಸನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸನಗರ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳಾದ ಕಿರಣ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಡಿ.ವೈ., ಶಿವಕುಮಾರನಾಯ್ಕ, ಮಾಯಪ್ಪ ಗೋಕಾವಿ, ರವಿಚಂದ್ರ, ಸುನಿಲ್, ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಮಧುಸೂಧನ್, ಜಗದೀಶ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಎಎನ್ಸಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಗುರುರಾಜ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂದೇಶ ಅವರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
Police Crack Down: Four Arrested in Cow Slaughter Case Near Pataguppa Bridge
Hosanagar police have successfully cracked a case involving the slaughter of a cow near Pataguppa Bridge and arrested four accused persons.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammed Saleem Balur (34), Maqbool Ahmed Badiger (22), Suleman Kolari (26), and Mallik Rehan (25), all residents of Akki Alur village in Hangal taluk of Haveri district.

According to police, miscreants had slaughtered a calf near the Sharavathi backwaters close to Pataguppa Bridge in Hosakoppa village limits of Hosanagar taluk and had fled the scene with the intention of selling the meat. Based on a complaint filed by CPC Gopalakrishna of Hosanagar Police Station, a case (Crime No. 67/2026) was registered.
The case was booked under Sections 4, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation Act, 2020, and Section 11(1)(d) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and an investigation was taken up.
Under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police, and the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Thirthahalli subdivision, a special investigation team was formed under the leadership of Circle Inspector M.I. Goudappagoudra of Hosanagar Circle to carry out the operation.
As part of the operation, PSI Shankaragouda Patil of Hosanagar Police Station, PSI Rajureddy of Ripponpet Police Station, PSI Shivananda Y.K. of Town Police Station, along with police personnel and officials from the Shivamogga ANC division, successfully arrested all four accused on July 4.

Police personnel including Kiran Kumar D.Y., Shivakumar Nayak, Mayappa Gokavi, Ravichandra, Sunil, Gopalakrishna, Madhusudhan, Jagadeesh, along with Gururaj and Indresh from the Shivamogga ANC division, participated in the operation.
