Apart from academic education through voluntary service -minded educators, the children are provided with opportunities to pursue several extra curricular activities like sports, yoga, fine arts, music, dance, etc.
In collaboration with other organisations, monthly classical music concerts, workshops and several other events are conducted. Monthly concerts which happen on first Sunday of every month feature eminent senior artists as well as young upcoming talents. Sri Thyagaraja Aradhana festival is also organised annually. The music activities have now entered into its fourth year in March 2026.
Sampattu commenced the fourth year with a lovely flute concert by a budding artist, Kum. Pranathi Rao, disciple of the legendary Vid. H.S. Venugopal. This promising talent who is just pursuing her 6th grade, gave a very involved, well prepared concert. Endowed with a very nice playing technique and a mature presentation of the compositions, given her age, she absolutely stole the show!
Kum. Pranathi presented at least 15 items in her one and half hour concert. Well chosen set included ragas like Gananayakam in Rudrapriya, enta muddo entha sogaso inbindumalini, Ranjani mridhu pankajalochani, a ragamalika, several devaranamas, Bho Shambho in Revathi, Thillana in Brindavani.
The performance included a lovely alapana and swaraprasthara in hindola for the famous krithi, samaja varagamana, which was indicative of the disciplined training that she has been receiving. With perseverance she is sure to scale great heights and is setting a wonderful example for students to balance their academics with their passion and talent.
She was ably accompanied on the Mridangam by her sibling Pranav Rao, also a budding artist. Together they presented an attractive concert for a full-house keeping the audience in awe! The efforts by their parents is commendable! Kum. Ahika anchored the program. The artists were blessed by senior organisers in the audience, Sri Jayaram, a very well-known organiser from Chikkamagalur. Wishing these youngsters a bright future in their artistic career.
