Minister Krishna Byregowda has issued directives to officials to ensure the digitization of all 1202 services provided under the “Sakala” scheme within the next 8 months, aimed at enhancing efficiency and accessibility for citizens.
During a “Sakala” meeting convened with departmental officials on Monday, Minister Byregowda emphasized the importance of making government services readily available online. He noted that while 1082 services from 101 departments are currently accessible to the public through the Sakala Yojana, an additional 120 services have recently been added. However, some services, including the newly added ones, are still reliant on paper applications. Minister Byregowda set a deadline for officials to ensure the digitization of all services within the stipulated timeframe.
Out of the total 1202 Sakala services, 922 pertain to civil services, while 280 are staff services. Presently, only 802 of these services are accessible online through the Sewasindhu portal, with the remaining 120 services requiring paper applications. Minister Byregowda underscored the importance of digitizing the entire process, from application to service delivery, to ensure accurate record-keeping and efficient service provision.
Additionally, Minister Byregowda instructed officials to integrate the Ek Gavakshi platform with the Seva Sindhu Portal, facilitating seamless access to services for citizens through the online platform. The meeting was attended by Revenue Commissioner Sunil Kumar, Sakala Director Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh, and “Sakala” Deputy Director Pallavi.
