There are 241 BSNL towers in the district and 37 towers are shared with private companies. To improve the performance of BSNL towers, steps need to be taken to improve the frequency. A meeting with BSNL senior officials will be held in Bangalore to provide assistance to improve the BSNL network in the district. He told them to provide complete information on this background.
‘There are many complaints about network issues in the backdrop of Corona, many working from home and online classes for students. In this context, urgent action needs to be taken to improve the network and provide quality services” : He said.
Private organizations have already been instructed to review the possibility of installing towers where there is no mobile network. Geo is pending to build a tower on 22 such sites, while Airtel has to build a tower on 42 locations. He said that the Deputy Commissioner will address the obstacles to the construction of the tower for these institutions and complete the tower construction as soon as possible.
Deputy Commissioner K.B. Shivakumar, President of Aryavaisya Corporation Arun, various department officials, representatives of BSNL, Geo and Airtel also attended the meeting.
