Noted cinematographer Ashok Cashyap said, many Indian filmmakers are trying to do movies like Hollywood film makers to reach out to larger audiences. However, films narrating native stories with local flavour are more successful and truly pan Indian.
He was speaking as a resource person in the one day workshop on film appreciation, organized by department of Journalism and Communication at Shankaraghatta on Monday.
Sharing his rich experience with the students, Mr. Kashyap said, Although digital technology has revolutionised film making in terms of sleekness and finesse, a film still remains writer- director’s medium. Recent films like ‘Kanatara,’ is a prime example, of a native story with local flavour capturing the attention of the Pan India audiences.
