During a discussion on the Agenda Aaj Tak platform, Union Home and Cooperation Minister, and senior BJP leader Amit Shah, made it clear that the Modi government is committed to implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He made it clear that the party will not step back from this initiative.
For decades after independence, the Congress government had kept the Uniform Civil Code on hold, using it as a political tool. It was incorporated into the Directive Principles of State Policy since immediate implementation was not feasible after independence. Interestingly, the BJP has consistently promised to work towards implementing the UCC in its election manifestos since the 1950s.

Shah, engaged in the politics of Antyodaya (uplifting the last person), believes that once the major law is formulated following all processes, the entire country will accept it willingly. He highlighted that the Modi-Shah duo has made unprecedented efforts to establish democratic values within politics, working for the people and the nation rather than personal or party gains.

Based on this foundation, it is determined that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the adept guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP government will implement the Uniform Civil Code to the country.
