Karnataka emerged as one of the strongest contributors at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2026, with 3,151 runners representing the state at Asia’s biggest marathon. Karnataka ranked second nationally, behind only host state Maharashtra, underlining the state’s rapidly growing running and endurance sports culture.
Participants from across Karnataka—including Bengaluru and other key urban centres—travelled to Mumbai to be part of the 69,702-strong TMM 2026 family. The strong turnout reflects the deepening commitment to fitness, community running and organised sporting events within the state.
Karnataka’s participation stood out among major running hubs, ahead of large states such as Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. The presence of a sizeable contingent from the state added significant energy to the event, with runners spanning first-timers, seasoned marathoners and charity runners supporting multiple causes.
As the Tata Mumbai Marathon continues to draw participants from every corner of the country, Karnataka’s showing at the 2026 edition reinforces its position as one of India’s leading running states, contributing meaningfully to the marathon’s truly pan-India character.
