RPF team Seized 40.495 Kgs Ganja at Ballari Railway station

On 06.04.2026, RPF team conducted checking in Train No. 18047 (Ex: SHM–VSKP Express) at Ballari Railway Station. During the drive, 03 numbers of unclaimed polythene bags were noticed in front general coach of the said train. On enquiry, no passenger claimed ownership of the bags.

Hence, the said bags were unloaded at Ballari Railway Station and on further verification, ascertained that the bag contains Ganja. On weighing all the 03 bags, the total quantity of ganja was found to be 40.495 kgs, with an estimated value of Rs. 20,24,750/-.The contraband was seized by Inspector /RPF/Ballari by adhering to all legal procedures.
After completion of formalities, the seized Ganja was handed over to GRP/Ballari for further legal action. In this connection, ASI/GRP/BAY registered a case vide Cr. No. 0011/2026 under Section 20(b)(ii)(C) of the NDPS Act, 1985 dtd 06.04.2026. The case is presently under investigation by GRP/Ballari.
