ಸಚ್ಚಾರಿತ್ರ್ಯ, ಶಿಸ್ತು ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ (Education) ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಯುವ ಸಮೂಹ ದೇಶದ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಆಸ್ತಿ. ಯುವಜನತೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆದು ದುಶ್ಚಟಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಿದ್ದರೆ ಸದೃಢ ಸಮಾಜ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಭಾರತ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಕುಮಾರಿ ಪ್ರಜಾಪಿತ ಈಶ್ವರಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (Shivamogga) ಸಂಘಟಕಿ ಅನುಸೂಯಕ್ಕ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಯುವಜನತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, ಇಂದಿನ ಯುವಜನತೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕೆಲವರು ವಿವಿಧ ದುಶ್ಚಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ವಿಷಾದನೀಯ ಸಂಗತಿ ಎಂದರು.
ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಯುವ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ‘ಜನರೇಷನ್ Z’ ಅಥವಾ ‘Gen Z’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಪೀಳಿಗೆ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವ ಗುಣ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತಮ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವೂ ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಡ್ರಗ್ಸ್, ಧೂಮಪಾನ, ಮದ್ಯಪಾನ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ವ್ಯಸನಗಳು ಯುವಜನತೆಯ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದರು.
ಯುವಕರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ, ಮೌಲ್ಯಾಧಾರಿತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಪಾರ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಮಾಜ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಕುಮಾರಿ ಪ್ರಜಾಪಿತ ಈಶ್ವರಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ಶಾಸಕ ಬಿ.ವೈ. ವಿಜಯೇಂದ್ರ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಗುರು-ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ನೀಡುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಯಾವುದು ಸರಿ, ಯಾವುದು ತಪ್ಪು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಸರಿಯಾದ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಒತ್ತಡ ಅಥವಾ ಆಮಿಷಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಯೌವನವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು. ಯುವಶಕ್ತಿಯೇ ದೇಶದ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಶದ ಆಸ್ತಿ. ಸದೃಢ ಭಾರತ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಯುವಜನತೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಆಯ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ದೇಶ, ಭಾಷೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಯುವಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶದ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಗಟ್ಟಿ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಸತ್ಯಾಸತ್ಯತೆ ಅರಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ
ವಿಶ್ವದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಧರ್ಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ವಿಚಾರಗಳ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘರ್ಷಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಯುದ್ಧದಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳು ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಜನತೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕುರುಡಾಗಿ ನಂಬದೆ ಅದರ ಸತ್ಯಾಸತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಅರಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ವಿಜಯೇಂದ್ರ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ದೇಶದ ಯುವಕರನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪು ದಾರಿಗೆ ಎಳೆಯುವ ಅಥವಾ ದೇಶದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ಮೂಲಗಳಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿವೇಚನೆಯಿಂದ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಸತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ನಡುವಿನ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ನಾಗರಿಕರಾಗಿ ರೂಪುಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ದುಶ್ಚಟಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಿರುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಚನ
ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಕುಮಾರಿ ಪ್ರಜಾಪಿತ ಈಶ್ವರಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಕ್ಕ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಚನ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು. ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ದುಶ್ಚಟಗಳಿಗೆ ದಾಸರಾಗದೆ, ಉತ್ತಮ ಜೀವನ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಡಾ. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್, ಕುಬೇರಪ್ಪ ಕೆ., ಡಾ. ವೀರೇಂದ್ರ, ವಿದ್ಯಾಶಂಕರ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

Shivamogga Educated and Disciplined Youth Are the Nation’s Greatest Asset
Shivamogga: Educated, disciplined and morally upright youth are among the nation’s greatest assets, said Anusuya, organiser of the Brahma Kumaris Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Shivamogga.
Speaking at a programme organised for students and youth, Anusuya said that although today’s younger generation is highly intelligent and talented, it is unfortunate that some youngsters are increasingly falling prey to various bad habits and addictions.
The present generation is often referred to as Generation Z (Gen Z). Young people today are known for expressing their opinions openly and have the ability to identify both positive and negative aspects of various issues. However, the growing influence of drugs, smoking, alcohol and other forms of addiction among youth is a matter of concern, she said.
With proper guidance, value-based education and positive thinking, the tremendous energy and potential of young people can be channelled in the right direction, paving the way for the creation of a better society, she added.

B.Y. Vijayendra, Shikaripura MLA and treasurer of the Brahma Kumaris organisation, said students should respect their teachers and elders while also developing the habit of questioning themselves and distinguishing between right and wrong.
He advised youngsters not to allow peer pressure, temptation or other influences to destroy their valuable years of youth. “Youth power is the strength and wealth of the nation,” he said.
For a strong and developed India, the younger generation must make responsible choices and develop a strong sense of commitment towards the country, language and society, he added.
Students Urged to Verify Facts
Vijayendra said conflicts and wars are increasing in different parts of the world in the name of religion and other ideologies. In such a situation, students should develop the ability to critically examine information rather than blindly accepting what they hear or see.
He also urged youngsters to be cautious about attempts to mislead or influence them against the country. Students should verify the authenticity of information received through social media and other sources and learn to distinguish between facts and misinformation, he said.
Students Take Pledge to Stay Away from Bad Habits
Sneha, president of the Shikaripura Brahma Kumaris Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, administered a pledge to the students, urging them to stay away from all forms of addiction and lead a disciplined life based on good values.
Department heads Dr. Shivakumar, Kuberappa K., Dr. Virendra and Vidyashankar, along with several lecturers, were present at the programme.
Yograj welcomed the gathering, while Chandrashekar proposed the vote of thanks. Shivraj compered the programme. Students Shreya and her team presented the prayer.
