Patients from different parts of India and abroad are increasingly travelling to Bengaluru in search of specialised and complex transplant care, highlighting the city’s growing reputation as a destination for advanced medical treatment.

A 13-year-old girl from Kerala, who was suffering from end-stage liver disease, travelled to Bengaluru for treatment and subsequently underwent a liver transplant. The organ was donated by a 5-year-old deceased donor, giving the young patient a new chance at life.
In another significant paediatric case closer to home, a 13-year-old girl from Bengaluru with dilated cardiomyopathy progressed to advanced heart failure despite medical management. She subsequently underwent a heart transplant and is now reported to be doing well.
