In a remarkable act of humanity amid grief, the parents of a young woman who died of cardiac arrest have donated her organs, giving a new lease of life to others.
Keerthana K (23), daughter of Kumar and Leela, residents of Subhash Nagar in Old Town, Bhadravathi, passed away on Sunday following a sudden cardiac arrest. Her organs were donated as per her wishes.
Keerthana was working as a nurse at Siddaganga Hospital in Tumakuru. According to reports, she suddenly collapsed while on duty after losing consciousness. She was immediately given medical attention, and her father Kumar was informed about the incident.

Despite being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and receiving treatment, she did not respond and was declared dead by doctors.
Speaking about the decision, her father Kumar V. said that Keerthana, being part of the medical field, had often expressed her wish to donate her organs after death. “We fulfilled her wish,” he said.
Her mother Leela expressed pride despite the loss, stating that even in death, her daughter had found a way to serve humanity.
The noble gesture has been widely appreciated as an example of compassion and selflessness.
