ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಮಾಜಿ ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಸೋಮನಾಥ ಚಟರ್ಜಿ ನಿಧನ

ಕೋಲ್ಕತ್ತಾ: ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಸ್ಟ್ ನಾಯಕ, ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಮಾಜಿ ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಸೋಮನಾಥ ಚಟರ್ಜಿ(89) ಇಂದು ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ನಿಧನರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ವಯೋ ಸಹಜ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಿಡ್ನಿ ಸೋಂಕು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಐಸಿಯುನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃತಕ ಉಸಿರಾಟದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಫಲಕಾರಿಯಾಗದೇ ಇಂದು ಇಹಲೋಕ ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಹತ್ತು ಬಾರಿ ಲೋಕಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಚಟರ್ಜಿ, 13ನೆಯ ಲೋಕಸಭೆಯ ಸ್ಪೀಕರ್ ಆಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಎಡರಂಗದ ಅಗ್ರಮಾನ್ಯ ನಾಯಕರೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸೋಮನಾಥ ಚಟರ್ಜಿ ಅವರನ್ನು 2008ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಪಿಎಂನಿಂದ ಉಚ್ಚಾಟಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಚಟರ್ಜಿ ನಿಧನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತಾಪ ಸೂಚಿಸಿ ಟ್ವೀಟ್ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ, ಚಟರ್ಜಿ ಭಾರತ ರಾಜಕೀಯದ ಅಗ್ರಮಾನ್ಯ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸತ್ ಘನತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
