During a discussion on the Agenda Aaj Tak platform, Amit Shah, the Central Home and Cooperation Minister and a prominent leader of the BJP, made it clear that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is not about acquiring citizenship but about granting citizenship in the country, emphasizing that it will be implemented. Shah, considered as an adapt strategist in the Indian politics, believes that CAA serves as a tool to deliver justice to followers of six religions, including Hindus, who faced religious persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other countries after partition.

He highlighted that the world knows that CAA does not take away anyone’s citizenship, but critics have falsely portrayed it, especially targeting Muslims, suggesting that it would lead to the loss of citizenship. Shah clarified that it is well-known that CAA does not affect anyone’s citizenship; instead, it is a law to grant citizenship. He hinted that it will be implemented at the right time, reaffirming the commitment to the welfare of the nation.
