Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) was observed at VISP from 31st October to 6th November, 2022. The Inauguration of the programme was done by Vigilance Pledge taking, reading out the messages of Hon’ble President of India, Hon’ble Vice President of India, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Chief Vigilance Commissioner. Dignitaries comprising of Shri B.L. Chandwani Executive Director Shri K.S. Suresh, Chief General Manager (Works) Shri Sugali Lokanatha, President, VISL Officers Association, Smt. B.C.Shailashree, Vice President, VISL Workers Association offered floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel & Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
Vigilance Awareness Rally was held. Smt. Triveni rendered a melodious invocation. Executive Director addressed the gathering. Shri Raghunath B. Ashtaputre, GM (Vigilance) & ACVO welcome & informed about the importance of the week & the care to be taken to be vigilant in all our activities. Shri L. Kuthalanathan, AGM (Vigilance) compered. Shri Kedaranath of Vigilance Department proposed Vote of Thanks.
As a part of VAW, Vendors meet covering 25 vendors of VISL was organized in which their grievances were heard, suggestions for improvement in the existing system were received & integrity pledge was administered.
Sit & Draw, Elocution, Quiz, Essay writing & Debate competitions were organized for school & college students. Poster Design, Essay writing & Quiz competition were organized for employees & contract labour of VISL. As a part of special drive of cleanliness ‘House Keeping campaign’ was organized across different shops & departments of the plant. Around 250 students of various schools & colleges of Bhadravathi & around 100 employees & contract labour of VISP participated in these competitions. Colourful Placards for the rally was prepared by students of Ethics Club of Ananya High School & SAV high school.
The valedictory function was held at Shree Sharada Mandira where 2 skits based on the themes of ‘Evils of Corruption’ were enacted by the artists employees & contract labour of VISL. The prizes were distributed by the dignitaries to winners of various competition held during the week. Students, Parents, Teachers, Senior Executives, Employees & Contract Labour of VISL & general public attended the function. Shri VM Unni Krishnan, Sr.Manager (Finance) rendered a melodious invocation.
