In a historic achievement, the Kumadvathi College of Education secured an A+ grade In National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) assessment.
The institution made remarkable progress by earning 3.27 CGPA (A+) points compared to that of the last grading in 2015 which the institution secured B scoring 2.70 points. Points increased in the areas of Curricular Aspects, Research-Innovations and Extension, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Governance-Leadership and Management and Institutional Values and Best Practices. The team besides visiting different departments of the college took stock of different student support services like the hostel, library and canteen etc. The team also had separate interactions with the parents, students and staff of the college.
NAAC inspection was conducted from 12th to the 13th of this month under the leadership of Dr. Sheila Stephen., Chairperson, NAAC Peer Team, Former Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Physical Education & Sports University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Dr. Nagendra Nath Pandey., Member Coordinator, NAAC Peer Team, Professor, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and Dr. Sunita Wadikar., Member Coordinator, NAAC Peer Team, Principal, Pillai College Of Education & Research Chembur, Mumbai, Maharashtra. The three – member committee appreciated the progress made by the institution in various fields. It is significant that Kumadvathi College of Education, established in 1996-97, and undergone for aided in the year 2010-11 and managed to achieve an A+ grade within a short span of time. Following the improved grading. Now there will be an increase in financial assistance from UGC for infrastructure and research work.
Tremendous efforts were made under the leadership of the PrincipalDr.Shivakumar G S aiming to advance in NAAC grading. Appreciating the IQAC Co-ordinator Dr. Kiran Kumar K S, teachers and staff, the principal said that the improvement in grading was the result of collective efforts. This is an indication that the Kumadvathi College of Education has risen to the level of the best higher education institutions in the Karnataka and as well as Country. Securing an A+ grade in the SECOND cycle NAAC assessment is a major achievement and Secretary Sri. B.Y Raghavendra and member of Parliament, Shimoga Constituency Congratulated the efforts of staff of KCE. However, there is still more to go. The institution is making efforts for the same, he added.
