In a major step towards enhancing passenger convenience, the Hubballi Division of South Western Railway has introduced ‘Margadarshak’, a digital map and navigation system at SSS-Hubballi Railway Station.
This user-friendly system, launched today, features a 43-inch touch screen kiosk placed at the station entrance. It offers passengers an interactive station map to easily locate facilities like platforms, foot over bridges, escalators, drinking water, waiting halls, catering stalls and more—much like using Google Maps inside the station.
Key highlights of Margadarshak:
- 24/7 self-service touchscreen kiosk
- Multilingual support (Kannada, Hindi, English)
- Personalized navigation with a virtual tour of the station
- Mobile access through QR codes placed around the station
Passengers can simply scan the QR code using their smartphones to access the map, locate themselves, and navigate smoothly across the station premises.
This smart system aims to reduce confusion, save time, and improve the overall passenger experience. Hubballi Division plans to expand this facility to other key stations like Dharwad, Belagavi, Ballari, Gadag, Koppal, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, and Vasco in the near future.
