This great “king of hymns” was recited in the presence of Lord Krishna by Bheeshma for the sake of the Pandavas. It bestows all desires on devotees in this Kaliyuga. It is the single-shot and best solution to divine, geographical and physical problems afflicting this world and all human beings. This hymn was perceived by sages to hail the thousand forms and qualities of the Lord. “Durgani atitharathyaashu…” , the hymn solves any problem, however big it be. “Rogaartho muchyate rogaath…” it cures all diseases. It removes all sins and gives peace of mind. “Baddho muchyeta bandanaath…” it frees us from bondage. It absolves us of “pitru shaapa” , and removes planetary afflictions (graha dosha) and the evil effects of black magic, and fulfils all our desires without discrimination of religion, caste,, creed or gender.
Chanting this hymn and offering oblations to the fire god Agni, reciting it while touching 1000 kalashas filled with sacred water, offering tarpana, offering namaskara, archana or offering flowers, and lighting ghee lamps brings multiple benefits.
Chanting Rashtra Sukta for the country’s defence brings about orderly governance.
Mangalashtaka, which brings out the essence of life itself, hails devatas, sages, kings, rivers, hills and forests and all lands and says protecting the country and its various regions is our duty.
Chanting Narasimha Stotra ends our debts, removes bondage, and solves problems such as unemployment and trouble from enemies, and brings peace.
“Shastrena rakshite rashtre shastra charcha pravartate…” All of us should know our strength and its limits and use it to protect the country. Only then will theological pursuits and debates receive State support.
Mass prayer / community prayer has more strength than individual prayer, it gives hundred times more benefits. Explaining the meaning of hymns composed by rishis will protect and preserve our culture.
This prayer is for our welfare, for the preservation of mankind, and for projecting our country as the guide of the entire world. This prayer is for society’s elevation and it is a social/communal feast.
Yugadi is the day when Chaturmukha Brahma started Creation of the Universe as per Lord Vishnu’s orders. As per astrology and dharma shastras, performing sacred duties on this day bestows full merit on individuals.
The Vishnu Sahasranama Yajna (“Udayasthamaana pooja mahavaibhava”) is being performed at Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha, Katriguppe, Bangalore, a sacred place where Vedas and Vedanta are being taught by scholars to hundreds of students and where Lord Krishna, Goddess Durga, Mukhyaprana, Adisesha, Rudra, Ganapati and the Navagrahas are being worshipped with utmost devotion.
