India’s pharmaceutical, food, environmental and industrial testing laboratories are facing growing pressure to handle increasing testing volumes while maintaining accuracy, regulatory compliance, quality standards and operational efficiency. Against this backdrop, Agilent Technologies has announced the India launch of a new portfolio of analytical and digital laboratory solutions aimed at helping laboratories improve productivity, simplify complex testing processes and strengthen workflow management.

The company has introduced the Agilent 9500 Triple Quadrupole ICP-MS, the new Agilent 8890B and 8860B Gas Chromatography (GC) Systems with GC Assist, and OpenLab Sync, Agilent’s new Lab Execution System (LES) designed to bring guided digital workflows directly to the laboratory bench.

The new solutions are targeted at laboratories working across sectors including pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, environmental monitoring, chemicals, advanced manufacturing and scientific research.

Focus on faster testing without compromising quality

Laboratories today are expected to deliver reliable analytical results within shorter turnaround times while complying with increasingly stringent quality and regulatory requirements. This is particularly important in areas such as pharmaceutical quality control, food safety, environmental testing and industrial manufacturing, where analytical results can directly influence product quality, public safety and regulatory decisions.

According to Agilent, the newly launched technologies are designed to address key challenges faced by laboratories by combining improved analytical performance, enhanced instrument productivity and digital workflow execution.PES Shivamogga

“India’s laboratories play a critical role in ensuring the quality of medicines, food, water and manufactured products that people rely on every day,” said Nandakumar Kalathil, Country General Manager, India, Agilent Technologies.

“As testing requirements continue to grow across industries, laboratories are looking for ways to improve productivity without compromising quality. These new technologies are designed to make advanced capabilities easier to adopt while helping laboratories operate more efficiently and grow with confidence,” he added.

Agilent Technologies 9500 Triple Quadrupole ICP-MS for complex analysis

One of the key products launched in India is the Agilent 9500 Triple Quadrupole ICP-MS, designed to help laboratories perform elemental analysis across complex sample matrices.

The system is intended for a wide range of applications, including pharmaceutical testing, food safety, environmental analysis and advanced materials research. According to the company, the technology incorporates new capabilities aimed at reducing analytical interferences and simplifying elemental analysis.

By helping laboratories manage complex samples and analytical challenges more efficiently, the system is expected to support reliable results across a variety of testing environments.

New GC systems designed to improve instrument uptime

Agilent has also introduced the 8890B and 8860B Gas Chromatography Systems with GC Assist in India.

Gas chromatography is widely used for analysing chemical compounds across pharmaceutical, food, environmental, petrochemical and other industrial applications. Maintaining instrument performance and minimizing downtime are therefore important considerations for laboratories handling high testing volumes.

The new GC systems incorporate built-in monitoring, diagnostics and guided maintenance capabilities. These features are designed to help laboratory teams identify potential problems at an earlier stage and simplify routine instrument upkeep.

Agilent said the approach can help laboratories reduce avoidable downtime, improve instrument productivity and support consistent data quality.

OpenLab Sync brings digital workflows to the laboratory bench

Alongside its analytical instruments, Agilent has introduced OpenLab Sync, a new Lab Execution System aimed at digitizing laboratory procedures that are traditionally managed using paper-based processes.

The solution provides guided digital workflows directly at the laboratory bench, helping users follow standardized procedures and document activities more consistently.

According to Agilent, OpenLab Sync can help laboratories improve consistency, traceability and audit readiness, while reducing manual processes associated with paper-based documentation.

The system is also positioned as a way to address workforce-related challenges, including employee training and the need to standardize laboratory procedures across teams.

Addressing changing workforce and laboratory requirements

Together, the three solutions are designed to address what Agilent describes as three critical areas of modern laboratory operations — analytical performance, instrument productivity and workflow execution.

The company said laboratories are increasingly looking for technologies that can simplify complex processes while enabling scientists and technicians to focus more time on scientific work rather than routine instrument management and documentation.

The launch comes at a time when laboratories are also dealing with workforce changes, growing testing requirements and the need to make advanced analytical technologies accessible to a broader range of users.Kalahamsa Infotech private limited

Solutions unveiled at Mumbai customer event

Agilent unveiled the new products at a customer event in Mumbai, which brought together scientists, laboratory leaders and quality professionals from the pharmaceutical, food, environmental, chemicals and research sectors.

The event provided an opportunity for industry stakeholders to discuss changing laboratory requirements, workforce trends and the role of technology in improving laboratory productivity.

Mike Zhang, President, Applied Markets Group, Agilent Technologies, and Bharat Bhardwaj, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific, Agilent Technologies, joined customers and industry representatives at the event.

Speaking about the company’s approach to innovation, Bharat Bhardwaj said that technology has the greatest impact when it simplifies the work of users.

“Innovation has the greatest impact when it makes life simpler,” said Bharat Bhardwaj, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific, Agilent Technologies.

He said the pace of scientific development is accelerating and laboratories increasingly need solutions that reduce operational complexity.

“The pace of science continues to accelerate, and customers want solutions that help them spend less time managing complexity and more time focusing on scientific discovery,” Bhardwaj said.

“Our goal is to help laboratories unlock the full value of their technology investments so they can focus on delivering meaningful scientific outcomes,” he added.

Products now available across India

Agilent said the newly launched products are now available across India, providing laboratories with access to its latest analytical and digital laboratory technologies.

In addition to the product launches, Agilent has introduced WhatsApp for Business in India as an additional channel for customer communication. The new service is intended to make it easier for customers to connect with Agilent for information, service and technical support.

With the combination of advanced analytical instruments, instrument diagnostics and digital laboratory workflows, Agilent is positioning its latest India portfolio as a response to the growing need for laboratories to increase testing capacity while maintaining quality, compliance and operational consistency.
