Sankaraghatta: The accusations of over payment of postgraduate student hostels at Kuvempu University and the information published in the newspapers is far from the truth.
In a press release, the University Register explained that the dormitories at the University are similar to the dividing system, so that students have to bear all the costs of hostels. The student hostels are set up by the University’s Advisory Committee and fees are charged on the advice of the University.
The University has assigned teacher advisors and managers to take care of its student messes. It includes a transparent system where students can see everything.
The fee that the dormitory receives from each student of the University is as follows.

Payment of dormitory casual employees (cooks, kitchen assistants, cleaners) and kitchen utensils, grinder, mixer, etc. Water Filter, Electric Geyser, Solar Water Heaters, Generators Maintenance, Student Room Water Pipeline and Borewell Maintenance, Maintenance of Student Rooms and Electrical Equipment are carried out in these amounts. To prevent Covid-19 the Sanitization of the student dormitory has been carried out daily.
Every day, lunch costs just nearly Rs.40’s are near. Each lunch menu includes morning coffee, snacks, lunch, evening tea / snacks and dinner. Student hostels provide high quality food at very low prices under the guidance of Student Representatives.
