Strategically located near Nanjangud Railway Station, the proposed Road Over Bridge (ROB) in lieu of LC No. 20 marks a significant step toward easing traffic congestion and improving transit efficiency in the region. Serving as a vital link between Nanjangud town and Chamarajanagar, the ROB will strengthen regional connectivity and provide smoother access for both daily commuters and long-distance passengers.
Sanctioned by Indian Railways at a cost of ₹49.10 crore, the project underscores the Government’s commitment to developing modern, sustainable transport infrastructure. Once completed, the ROB will eliminate a critical bottleneck, enhance safety, reduce travel delays, and contribute meaningfully to the economic and social development of the region.
Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, Shri V. Somanna, inspected the proposed site of the ROB today at Nanjangud. He was accompanied by Shri Sunil Bose, MP (Chamarajanagar), Shri T.S. Srivathsa, MLA (Krishnaraja), Shri Dharshan Dhruvanarayana, MLA (Nanjangud), Shri K. Vivekananda, MLC, Shri Pratap Simha, Ex-MP, Shri Ajay Sharma, CAO/CN/BNC, Shri Shammas Hameed, ADRM Mysuru, and other senior officials.
