In a significant step towards strengthening regional railway and road infrastructure, V. Somanna, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, inspected the ongoing works of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) being constructed in lieu of Level Crossing No. 86 at Sharada Nagar Gate and Level Crossing No. 88 at Honnavalli Gate in the Tiptur region under Mysuru Division of South Western Railway.
These long-awaited infrastructure projects fulfill a persistent demand of the people of Tiptur and surrounding areas and mark a major milestone in enhancing connectivity, safety, and commuter convenience.
The Road Over Bridge at LC No. 86, Sharada Nagar Gate, is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹89.32 crore. The project will significantly improve connectivity between Chikkanayakanahalli and Hassan railway stations, facilitating smoother and uninterrupted movement of both rail and road traffic.
The Road Over Bridge at LC No. 88, Honnavalli Gate, is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹29.74 crore. This much-anticipated project will link Honnavalli, Konehalli, and Tiptur, ensuring seamless mobility across the region.
During the inspection, the Hon’ble Minister emphasized that these projects will reduce traffic congestion, enhance commuter safety, and provide uninterrupted connectivity, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the area. He reiterated the Government’s commitment to modernizing railway infrastructure and addressing long-pending public demands. He further stated that such infrastructure initiatives play a crucial role in promoting regional growth by improving accessibility, reducing travel time, and ensuring safer transportation systems.
The inspection was attended by the Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru Division, other Divisional Officers, and public representatives.
The Mysuru Division of South Western Railway remains committed to the timely execution and completion of these projects for the benefit of passengers and the general public.
