ಕೇಂದ್ರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಲಶಕ್ತಿ ಖಾತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ವಿ. ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಅವರು ಭಾನುವಾರ ತುಮಕೂರು–ರಾಯದುರ್ಗ (Rayadurg) ಹೊಸ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಊರುಕೆರೆ–ಕೊರಟಗೆರೆ (18 ಕಿ.ಮೀ.) ಹಾಗೂ ಕೊರಟಗೆರೆ–ಮಡಕಶಿರ (56 ಕಿ.ಮೀ.) ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೊರಟಗೆರೆ, ಮಧುಗಿರಿ, ಹೊಸಕೆರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೇಡತ್ತೂರು ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗದಿತ ಅವಧಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ನಂತರ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸಚಿವರು, ತುಮಕೂರು–ರಾಯದುರ್ಗ ಹೊಸ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಯೋಜನೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ದೊಡ್ಡಹಳ್ಳಿ–ಪಾವಗಡ ನಡುವಿನ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತರ (CCRS) ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯೂ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ರಾಯದುರ್ಗದಿಂದ ಪಾವಗಡದವರೆಗೆ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ತುಮಕೂರು–ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಹೊಸ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯೂ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಒಟ್ಟು 207 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಉದ್ದದ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ 110 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ದೊಡ್ಡಹಳ್ಳಿ–ರಾಯದುರ್ಗ ನಡುವಿನ 83 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಎರಡು ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ತುಮಕೂರು–ಊರುಕೆರೆ (11 ಕಿ.ಮೀ.) ಹಾಗೂ ದೊಡ್ಡಹಳ್ಳಿ–ಪಾವಗಡ (16 ಕಿ.ಮೀ.) ವಿಭಾಗಗಳ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳೂ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಮುಖ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಿಂದ ಶಾಸನಬದ್ಧ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮಡಕಶಿರ–ಪಾವಗಡ (22 ಕಿ.ಮೀ.) ನಡುವಿನ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಊರುಕೆರೆ–ಕೊರಟಗೆರೆ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2028ರೊಳಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಟಗೆರೆ–ಮಧುಗಿರಿ–ಮಡಕಶಿರ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಮೇ 2028ರೊಳಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Union Minister V. Somanna Reviews Tumakuru–Rayadurg New Railway Line Project
Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, Mr. V. Somanna, conducted an inspection of the ongoing works on the Tumakuru–Rayadurg new railway line project on Sunday.
As part of the review, the Minister inspected the construction works on the Urukere–Koratagere (18 km) and Koratagere–Madakashira (56 km) stretches. He also visited and reviewed progress at Koratagere, Madhugiri, Hosakere, and Bedattur railway stations. During the inspection, he directed railway officials to ensure completion of the works within the stipulated timeframe.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Somanna stated that the Tumakuru–Rayadurg railway project is progressing well. He informed that the construction between Dodda Halli and Pavagada has been completed, and the inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) has been successfully carried out. Train services between Rayadurg and Pavagada are expected to commence shortly.
He further added that work on the Tumakuru–Davanagere new railway line project is also progressing at a fast pace.
Out of the total 207 km length of the Tumakuru–Rayadurg railway project, about 110 km has been completed so far. The 83 km stretch between Dodda Halli and Rayadurg has already been completed in two phases and opened for traffic. Additionally, works on the Tumakuru–Urukere (11 km) and Dodda Halli–Pavagada (16 km) sections have been completed, and statutory safety inspections by the Commissioner of Railway Safety have been conducted.
Construction on the Madakashira–Pavagada (22 km) section is currently in progress. The Urukere–Koratagere stretch is targeted for completion by February 2028, while the Koratagere–Madhugiri–Madakashira stretch is expected to be completed by May 2028.
MLA Mr. K.N. Rajanna (Madhugiri), Chief Engineer (Construction) Mr. Prasad, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction) Mr. Suraj Kumar, and other railway officials were present during the inspection.
