The Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences (KSNUAHS), Shivamogga will host an International Workshop on “Empowering Early Career Researchers in Advancing Climate-Resilient Agriculture Research and Collaboration” from January 5-9, 2026, bringing together young researchers, scientists, and experts from India and the United Kingdom.
It is jointly supported by the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF–British Council) and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), in collaboration with the Natural Resources Institute, University of Greenwich, United Kingdom.
The workshop aims to strengthen global partnerships and enhance research capacities in addressing the growing challenges posed by climate change on agriculture. The event will feature expert lectures, hands-on training sessions, proposal development workshops, field exposure, and interactions with leading funding agencies including the British Council, ICSSR, DST, ICAR, ANRF, and VGST.
The five-day programme will host 45 participants from India and UKand it will focus on climate-resilient agricultural innovations, carbon farming, agrometeorology, sustainable technologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Senior dignitaries from national and international organisations will deliver keynote addresses and contribute for panel discussions. Dr. R. C. Jagadeesha, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of KSNUAHS has informed that the workshop will provide a transformative platform for young researchers to exchange knowledge, build networks and develop impactful solutions for climate-smart agriculture.
The Organising Secretary, Dr. Vinaya Kumar H. M. (Contact: +91 8867576011)has opined that the challenges posed by climate change, exacerbated by anthropogenic activities along with mitigation strategies, will be deliberated during the workshop.
He further expressed that the workshop is expected to catalyse long-term Indo–UK research partnerships and strengthen the scientific ecosystem supporting climate resilience and rural development.
