ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಂ (Sikkim Tragedy) ರಾಜ್ಯದ ನಾಮ್ಚಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಜೋಲುಂಗೆ ಸಮೀಪದ ಸಮರ್ಡುಂಗ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸುರಂಗ ಕುಸಿದ (Tunnel Collapse) ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಏಳು ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿರುವ ದುರ್ಘಟನೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದೆ.
ದುರಂತದ ಬಳಿಕ ಸುರಂಗದೊಳಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವು ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಸಿಲುಕಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಶಂಕೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಪಡೆ (NDRF), ರಾಜ್ಯ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಪಡೆ (SDRF) ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ತುರ್ತು ಸೇವೆಗಳ ತಂಡಗಳು ಭಾರೀ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿವೆ.

ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಮೃತ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಪಾರ್ಥಿವ ಶರೀರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿಂಗ್ಟಮ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ, ಗ್ಯಾಂಗ್ಟಾಕ್ನ ಎಸ್ಟಿಎನ್ಎಂ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಮ್ಚಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ರವಾನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮೃತರ ಗುರುತು ಪತ್ತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ.
27 ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಸಿಲುಕಿರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ
ನಾಮ್ಚಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಅನುಪ್ ತಮ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು, ಸುರಂಗದೊಳಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು 27 ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಸಿಲುಕಿರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸುರಂಗದೊಳಗಿನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿರುವ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ನಿಖರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
NDRF ತಂಡದಿಂದ ತೀವ್ರ ಶೋಧ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ
ಅವಘಡದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ NDRF, SDRF, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಂ ಪೊಲೀಸ್, ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ಮತ್ತು ತುರ್ತು ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸುರಂಗದೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿರುವ NDRF ತಂಡ ಅವಶೇಷಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದ್ದು, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತದಿಂದ ಸಮನ್ವಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ
ನಾಮ್ಚಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತವು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಪೊಲೀಸ್, ಅಗ್ನಿಶಾಮಕ ದಳ, ವಿಪತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮನ್ವಯ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ವಿಪತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ (SSDMA) ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೆರವು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಸಮರ್ಡುಂಗ್ (ಜೋಲುಂಗೆ) ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜಲವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಸುರಂಗವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ (Tunnel Landslide) ಭೂಕುಸಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀಥೇನ್ ಅನಿಲ ಸ್ಫೋಟ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿ ದುರಂತ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ 7 ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಹಲವರು ಸುರಂಗದೊಳಗೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸೋಮವಾರ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಸುರಂಗದೊಳಗೆ ಅನಿಲ ಸೋರಿಕೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಅದರ ಬೆನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಸುರಂಗದ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗ ಕುಸಿದಿರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಶಂಕಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕುಸಿತಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಖರ ಕಾರಣವೇನು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಜ್ಞರು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ತನಿಖೆಯ ಬಳಿಕವೇ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಹೊರಬೀಳಲಿದೆ.
ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆ
ಸುರಂಗದೊಳಗೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿರುವ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೊರತರಲು ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಂಡಗಳು ನಿರಂತರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಅವಶೇಷಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಯುದ್ಧೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಯಂತ್ರೋಪಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅವಲೋಕಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡ ಬಳಿಕವೇ ಸಾವಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಅಥವಾ ಸಿಲುಕಿರುವವರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಕುರಿತು ಅಂತಿಮ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Gangtok: At least seven workers were killed after a tunnel under construction collapsed in the Samardung area near Jolung in Namchi district of Sikkim. Following the incident, fears have been raised that several more workers may still be trapped inside the tunnel. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and other emergency services are carrying out large-scale rescue operations.
According to district authorities, the bodies of the deceased workers have been shifted to Singtam District Hospital, STNM Hospital in Gangtok, and Namchi District Hospital. Efforts are underway to identify the victims and inform their families.
Namchi District Collector Anup Tamling stated that around 27 workers are suspected to be trapped inside the tunnel. However, complete information about the conditions inside the tunnel is not yet available. Therefore, the exact number of trapped workers and their condition cannot be officially confirmed at this stage.
Intensive Search Operation by NDRF
Soon after receiving information about the incident, teams from NDRF, SDRF, Sikkim Police, Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and began rescue operations. NDRF personnel who have entered the tunnel are engaged in clearing debris, and officials expect more clarity once further updates are received from inside.
Coordinated Efforts by District Administration
The Namchi district administration is coordinating with various departments including health, police, fire services, and disaster management authorities to carry out the rescue operation. The Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority (SSDMA) is closely monitoring the situation and has assured all necessary assistance.
Incident Followed Gas Leak
Preliminary reports suggest that a gas leak occurred inside the tunnel on Monday afternoon, following which a portion of the tunnel is believed to have collapsed. However, the exact cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, and experts are investigating the incident.
Rescue Operations Continue
Rescue teams are making continuous efforts to safely evacuate the trapped workers. Debris removal is being carried out on a war footing, with additional machinery deployed at the site. Officials have stated that final details regarding casualties and the number of trapped workers will be confirmed only after the completion of the rescue operation.
