Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, in his address at the 118th annual session of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry held at the Science Building in New Delhi on Friday, recounted the country’s 75 years of democratic journey and the achievements of the past 9 years. During this address, Shah stated that the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry should work to maximize the benefits of the policies of the Modi government for the youth and women.
Amit Shah praised the foresight of PM Modi and the policy decisions made during the past 9 years, which have transformed the country in every sector. He emphasized the theme of ‘Rising India: This is the time, the right time,’ and mentioned events like the G20, Chandrayaan-3 mission, Aditya L-1 mission, and the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill, which have filled the country with new energy. He asserted that democracy in India is now firmly rooted.
Shah’s belief in this journey of determination to success is that when the country celebrates its centenary of independence, India will lead in every sector because it has the largest youth population, the most populous country, the most doctors, engineers, and technocrats. He pointed out that India has progressed from being the 11th largest economy in the world in 2014 to becoming the fifth largest in 2023 and is on track to become the third largest by 2027.
In 2013-14, India had 4 unicorn startups and 350 startups, but today it is one of the leading countries with 115 unicorns and over 1,00,000 startups. The ‘Make in India’ program, which was once ridiculed, is now setting production records in the country. The PLI scheme has realized the dream of ‘Make in India’ in 14 sectors. Today, India is recognized as a vibrant spot in the world.
In the past 9 years, under the political stability and policy decisions, the country has witnessed several unprecedented changes and progress. The leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efficient management of Central Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in the last 9 years have given a new momentum to the country’s progress. This is the right time for Indian industries to move forward in both size and scale.
