ಭಾರತದ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಚಿವ ಎಸ್. ಜೈಶಂಕರ್ (EAM Jaishankar) ಅವರು ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮಾರ್ಕೋ ರೂಬಿಯೋ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮನಿಲಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಭಾರತ–ಅಮೆರಿಕಾ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಭಾಗಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಭೇಟಿ ಆಸಿಯನ್ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಸಭೆಗಳ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕ್ವಾಡ್ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಚಿವರ ಸಭೆ (FMM) ವೇಳೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.
ಜೈಶಂಕರ್ ಅವರು Xನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಂತೆ, ಈ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಂಕ, ಇಂಧನ, ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಮತ್ತು ಭದ್ರತೆ, ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಖನಿಜಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ, ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹುಪಕ್ಷೀಯ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಸಹ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ವಿನಿಮಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಕ್ವಾಡ್ (ಭಾರತ, ಅಮೆರಿಕಾ, ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾ ಮತ್ತು ಜಪಾನ್) ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳು ಮನಿಲಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದು, ಇಂಡೋ-ಪೆಸಿಫಿಕ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಕ್ತ ಮತ್ತು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಪುನರುಚ್ಚರಿಸಿವೆ. ಆಸಿಯನ್ ಕೇಂದ್ರಿತತೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಎಂದು ರೂಬಿಯೋ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಜೈಶಂಕರ್ ಅವರು ಆಸಿಯನ್ ಚೌಕಟ್ಟಿನಡಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಚಿವ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಭೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲು ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಭೇಟಿಿಗಾಗಿ ಮನಿಲಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆಸಿಯನ್–ಭಾರತ ಸಭೆ, ಈಸ್ಟ್ ಏಷ್ಯಾ ಸಮಿಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ಆಸಿಯನ್ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಸಭೆಗಳು ಈ ಭೇಟಿಯ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿವೆ.
ಭಾರತದ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಈ ಭೇಟಿ ‘ಆಕ್ಟ್ ಈಸ್ಟ್’ ನೀತಿಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಿಯನ್ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭಾರತದ ನಿರಂತರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಗ್ರ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕ್ವಾಡ್ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಭದ್ರತೆ, ಸಮುದ್ರ ಸಹಕಾರ, ಉದಯೋನ್ಮುಖ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಡೋ-ಪೆಸಿಫಿಕ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಯುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ.
ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನ, ಜೈಶಂಕರ್ ಅವರು ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾದ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಚಿವೆ ಪೆನ್ನಿ ವಾಂಗ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಫಿಲಿಪೈನ್ಸ್ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮಾ. ಥೆರೇಸಾ ಪಿ. ಲಜಾರೋ ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ದ್ವಿಪಕ್ಷೀಯ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸಹಕಾರ ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
EAM Jaishankar Meets Marco Rubio in Manila; Discusses India–US Strategic Partnership at Quad Meeting
Manila: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Manila on Wednesday and discussed key areas of the India–US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership on the sidelines of the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM) held alongside ASEAN-related meetings.
According to Jaishankar, the discussions focused on priority areas including trade and tariffs, energy, defence and security, critical minerals, and artificial intelligence. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional, global, and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
The meeting took place as the Quad grouping—India, the United States, Australia, and Japan—reconvened in Manila to deliberate on strengthening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting ASEAN centrality and promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific based on the principles of rule of law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Jaishankar is on a two-day visit to Manila to participate in multiple Foreign Minister-level meetings under the ASEAN framework, including the ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the visit underscores India’s continued engagement with ASEAN under its Act East Policy and its commitment to strengthening the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
During his visit, Jaishankar also held bilateral meetings with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Philippines Foreign Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, discussing ways to enhance bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
