ಕಳೆದ ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ (Karnataka) ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಾಜಕೀಯದಲ್ಲಿ (Political News) ತಾರಕಕ್ಕೇರಿತ್ತು. ಒಂದೆಡೆ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿ ನೀರು ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ವಿಚಾರ ಮತ್ತು ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾದ ಪ್ರವಾಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೀವ್ರ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಮತ್ತೊಂದೆಡೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಯ ವಿಚಾರವೂ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಡಿತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಕುತೂಹಲ ಕೆರಳಿಸಿತ್ತು. ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸರಣಿ ಸಭೆಗಳು, ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು, ಶಾಸಕರ ಲಾಬಿ—all these had kept political circles on edge.
