ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (Shivamogga) ನಾಳೆಯಿಂದ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋಗಳ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನಿಗದಿತ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ಹೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಹ ಆಟೋವನ್ನು (Auto) ಸೀಜ್ ಮಾಡಿ ತಗೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ದೇವರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರಿಗೆ ಖಡಕ್ ವಾರ್ನಿಂಗ್ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಲೀಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್ಸನ್ನು ತಡೆದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ ವೇಳೆ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರ ಮನವಿಯನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಿದ ಅವರು ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರಿಗೂ ಸಹ ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ನಾಳೆಯಿಂದ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ
ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್’ಗಳ ವಿಚಾರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ನಿಮಗೂ ಸಹ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳಿವೆ. ನಾಳೆಯಿಂದ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಎಲ್ಲ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳೂ ಸಹ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ಹೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಹ ಆಟೋವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರಿಗೆ ಏನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ?
ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಆಟೋಗಳಿಗೆ ಫಿಟ್ನೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೇಟ್ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ದೂರು ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ, ನಾಳೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುವ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ವೇಳೆ ಫಿಟ್ನೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೇಟ್, ಇನ್ಷೂರೆನ್ಸ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳೂ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ಹೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಹ ಆಟೋವನ್ನು ಸೀಜ್ ಮಾಡಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಇನ್ನು ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿ, ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಆಟೋಗಳಿಗೆ SMG ನಂಬರ್ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅಂದಾಜು 7000 ಆಟೋಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 5000 ಆಟೋಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ SMG ನಂಬರ್ ಹಾಕಿವೆ. ಉಳಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಇದನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. ಇದರೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಆಟೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಸ್ಪ್ಲೇ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮುಲಾಜಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಆಟೋ ತಗೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಚಾಲಕರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಲೀಕರಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ರೈಲ್ವೆ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಗಣಪತಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಹ ಬಸ್ನ್ನು ಆಟೋ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದವರೆಗೆ ತಂದು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಒಂದು ವಾರದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಆರ್ಟಿಒ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಕುರಿತು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲುಗಡೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಡೆದ ಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಹಾಗೂ ಫೋಟೋ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳಿವೆ. ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಸಮೀಪವೇ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಟೋ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಬಳಿ ಬಸ್ಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಎಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಲೀಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಅಲ್ಲಾ ಭಕ್ಷಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರು ಬಸ್ ನಿಲುಗಡೆ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.
Shivamogga CPI Warned Auto Drivers
Shivamogga: Traffic Circle Inspector Devaraj has issued a stern warning to auto-rickshaw drivers and owners in the city, stating that vehicles without the required documents will be seized during inspections starting tomorrow.
Speaking when auto drivers and members of the Auto Drivers and Owners Association met him during a protest near the railway station after stopping a city bus, Inspector Devaraj said auto-rickshaws would also be subjected to strict document verification.
Document Verification From Tomorrow
Inspector Devaraj said that just as the authorities were listening to the demands of auto drivers regarding city buses, the drivers too must follow the prescribed rules.
“Auto-rickshaws in the city will be inspected from tomorrow. All required documents must be valid and up to date. If the documents are not in order, the vehicle will be seized,” he warned.
Fitness Certificate, Insurance Mandatory
According to the Traffic Police, complaints have been received that several auto-rickshaws are operating without valid fitness certificates.
During the inspection, drivers will be required to produce a valid fitness certificate, insurance and other mandatory documents. Vehicles found without the required documents will be seized, Inspector Devaraj warned.
SMG Number and Display Board Mandatory
Inspector Devaraj also pointed out that many auto-rickshaws in Shivamogga do not have the mandatory SMG registration number.
Of the estimated 7,000 auto-rickshaws in the city, only around 5,000 have displayed the SMG number, he said. The remaining auto owners have been instructed to obtain and display the number.
He also directed all auto-rickshaws to compulsorily display the prescribed display board. Failure to comply could result in the vehicle being seized without any leniency, he warned.
Why Did Auto Drivers Protest Near Shivamogga Railway Station?
Auto drivers and members of the Railway Station Auto Drivers and Owners Association staged a protest near the railway station by stopping a city bus.
The protesters alleged that city buses were being brought up to the auto stand and passengers were being picked up there, despite instructions to stop the buses in front of the Ganapathi Temple near the railway station.
The auto drivers said the issue had already been taken up with RTO officials about a week ago. Officials had visited the spot and taken action regarding the dispute between city bus operators and auto drivers.
“We have video and photographic evidence of the action taken regarding the bus stopping issue. City buses should stop near the designated city bus stop and should not be brought to the auto stand to pick up passengers,” said Alla Bakshi, president of the Auto Drivers and Owners Association.
During the protest, the auto drivers demanded strict enforcement of the prescribed bus stopping rules near the railway station.
