2019ರಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆನ್ನೈನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದ (Chennai Murder Mystery) ಮಹಿಳೆ/ನಟಿ ಭೀಕರ ಕೊಲೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಮಹತ್ವದ ತಿರುವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದು, ಗುರುತು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗದೆ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಮೃತದೇಹದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ರೋಚಕ ಕಹಾನಿ ಇದೀಗ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.
2019ರ ಜನವರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ (Chennai) ಚೆನ್ನೈನ ಪಲ್ಲಿಕರಣೈ ಕಸದ ವಿಲೇವಾರಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಬಳಿ ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಚೀಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕೈ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲುಗಳು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಬಳಿಕ ನಗರದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯ ದೇಹದ ಮೂಳೆಗಳು, ಆಂತರಿಕ ಅಂಗಗಳು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ದೇಹದ ಇತರ ಭಾಗಗಳು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಆದರೆ ಮೃತಳ ತಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಡಗೈ ಮಾತ್ರ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಮೃತಳ ಗುರುತು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವುದು ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸವಾಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ಮಹಿಳೆಯ ಗುರುತು ಪತ್ತೆಗಾಗಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪಲ್ಲಿಕರಣೈ ಕಸದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 11,700 ಟನ್ ಕಸವನ್ನು ಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರೂ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸುಳಿವು ದೊರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಎರಡು ಹಚ್ಚೆಗಳು ನೀಡಿದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸುಳಿವು
ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ತನಿಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಬಲಗೈಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಎರಡು ವಿಶೇಷ ಹಚ್ಚೆಗಳು ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸುಳಿವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿದವು. ಕೈಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಶಿವ-ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ಹಚ್ಚೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಡ್ರ್ಯಾಗನ್ ಹಚ್ಚೆ ಮೃತಳ ಗುರುತು ಪತ್ತೆ ಮಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವಹಿಸಿತು.
ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ತೂತುಕುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯೊಬ್ಬರು ತಮ್ಮ 37 ವರ್ಷದ ಮಗಳು ಸಂಧ್ಯಾ ನಾಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಸಂಧ್ಯಾ ಚೆನ್ನೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಪತಿ ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ನಟಿಯಾಗುವ ಕನಸು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಳು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ತಾಯಿಯ ಗುರುತಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಡಿಎನ್ಎ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ
ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ದೇಹದ ಭಾಗಗಳ ಗುರುತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಧ್ಯಾಳ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಆಕೆಯ ತಾಯಿ ಕೈ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಶಿವ-ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ಹಚ್ಚೆ, ದೇಹದ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಮಚ್ಚೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದರು.
ನಂತರ ನಡೆಸಲಾದ ಡಿಎನ್ಎ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಮೃತದೇಹದ ಅವಶೇಷಗಳು ಸಂಧ್ಯಾಳದ್ದೇ ಎಂಬುದು ದೃಢಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಲವು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಗೂಢವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮೃತಳ ಗುರುತು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಯಿತು.

ತನಿಖೆಯ ವೇಳೆ ಸಂಧ್ಯಾ ಮತ್ತು ಆಕೆಯ ಪತಿ ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ನಡುವೆ ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ಕಲಹ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಎಂಬ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ದೊರೆತಿತ್ತು.
ಸಂಧ್ಯಾ ವಿವಾಹೇತರ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾಳೆ ಎಂಬ ಅನುಮಾನದಿಂದ 2019ರ ಜನವರಿ 19ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಜಗಳದ ವೇಳೆ ಬಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ಕೊಡಲಿಯಿಂದ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಲೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಕೊಲೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ ಮೃತದೇಹವನ್ನು ತುಂಡುಗಳಾಗಿ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ, ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿ ಚೆನ್ನೈನ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ಎಸೆದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ತನಿಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿತ್ತು.

ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಸಂಧ್ಯಾಳ ದೇಹದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಅವಶೇಷಗಳನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದರೂ, ಆಕೆಯ ತಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಡಗೈ ಮಾತ್ರ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಮುಖವಿಲ್ಲದ ಅಪರಿಚಿತ ಮೃತದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಗುರುತು ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಆಕೆಯ ಕೈ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಎರಡು ಹಚ್ಚೆಗಳು — ಶಿವ-ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಡ್ರ್ಯಾಗನ್.

Chennai: A major breakthrough has emerged years after a gruesome murder case of a woman in Chennai in 2019, as the shocking story behind the unidentified body has finally come to light.
In January 2019, severed hands and legs of a woman were found packed in a plastic bag near the Pallikaranai dump yard in Chennai. Later, other body parts, including bones and internal organs, were discovered across different parts of the city. However, the head and left hand of the victim were never recovered.
Identifying the victim was a huge challenge for the police. In an effort to establish her identity, authorities sifted through nearly 11,700 tons of garbage at the Pallikaranai dump yard, but initially found no leads.
Two Tattoos Provide Crucial Clue
During the investigation, two distinctive tattoos found on the victim’s right hand became a crucial lead. The Shiva-Parvati tattoo and a dragon tattoo played a key role in identifying the victim.
Around the same time, a woman from Thoothukudi had filed a missing complaint about her 37-year-old daughter, Sandhya. Sandhya was living in Chennai with her husband Balakrishnan and their two children, and reportedly aspired to become an actress.
Identification by Mother and DNA Confirmation
When police showed the recovered body parts to Sandhya’s family, her mother identified her based on the Shiva-Parvati tattoo on her hand, a mole on her body, and her jewelry.
Subsequent DNA tests confirmed that the remains belonged to Sandhya, finally solving the mystery surrounding the unidentified victim.
Husband Accused of Murder
During the investigation, police learned that Sandhya and her husband Balakrishnan often had domestic disputes.
Police alleged that on January 19, 2019, during a heated argument fueled by suspicion of an extramarital affair, Balakrishnan attacked Sandhya with an axe and murdered her.
After the murder, he allegedly dismembered the body, packed the parts into plastic bags, and disposed of them across various locations in Chennai.
Evidence That Cracked the Case
Key evidence in the case included bloodstains in the house, plastic bags, the murder weapon, and CCTV footage.
Although police managed to recover most of Sandhya’s remains, her head and left hand were never found.
Tattoos That Led to Justice
What ultimately gave identity to the faceless victim were the two tattoos on her hand — Shiva-Parvati and dragon.
Despite the killer’s attempt to erase her identity by mutilating the body, the tattoos revealed the truth. Through her mother’s identification and DNA confirmation, a woman who could have remained unknown was finally given a name.
This case stands as a stark example of how even the smallest detail can solve a mystery that remained unresolved for years.
