ಇಂದಿನ ಯುವಕರು ವರ್ತಮಾನದ ಹಲವು ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುವ ಗುಣವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯೂ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಆಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಅವಶ್ಯಕ ಎಂದು ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ (Shikaripura) ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಡಾ. ಬಿ.ಜಿ. ಚೆನ್ನಪ್ಪ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಕುಮದ್ವತಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ 2026–27ನೇ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಾಲಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಕಾಲೇಜು ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಅನಾವರಣಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲದ ಗುಂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಲುಕಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆಯನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಮದ್ವತಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಡಾ. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್. ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ, ಶಿಸ್ತು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಜೀವನದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಉನ್ನತ ಗುರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಡಾ. ರವೀಂದ್ರ ಕೆ.ಸಿ. ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವು ಜೀವನದ ಭದ್ರ ಬುನಾದಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ತರಗತಿ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಬಾರದು. ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ಗುಣ, ಸಮಯಪಾಲನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ವಿವಿಧ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.
ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಡಾ. ಕೋಟೋಜಿರಾವ್ ಆರ್., ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಸಚಿನ್ ವಿ.ಎಚ್., ಉಪ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾದ ಚೇತನ್, ಅಭಿಷೇಕ್ ಗೌಳಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ವೇತಾ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವು ಜೀವನದ ಭದ್ರ ಬುನಾದಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ತರಗತಿ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಬಾರದು. ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ಗುಣ, ಸಮಯಪಾಲನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ನೇಹಾ ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಶ್ವಿನಿ ಹೆಚ್.ವಿ. ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಧಕ, ಬೋಧಕೇತರ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಸಂಘದ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

Shikaripura: Today’s youth must develop the ability to respond to the many challenges of the present. Along with political awareness, civic consciousness is equally essential, and it is important for young people to understand the ideals of democracy and the Constitution, said Dr. B.G. Chennappa, Principal of the Government First Grade College, Shikaripura.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Student Union and various student forums for the academic year 2026–27 at Kumadvathi First Grade College in Shikaripura.
Dr. Chennappa said that various student forums at the college level provide opportunities for hidden talents to emerge. He urged students not to let their creativity be diminished by excessive dependence on the internet and instead focus on nurturing their abilities.
Presiding over the function, Dr. Shivakumar G.S., representative of the institution’s management and Principal of Kumadvathi College of Education, advised students to cultivate discipline, good values, and hard work to achieve success in life. He encouraged them to pursue their goals with determination and strive for excellence.
In his introductory address, Dr. Ravindra K.C., Principal of Kumadvathi First Grade College, said that education forms the foundation of life and that students’ talents should not remain confined to the classroom. He stressed the importance of developing leadership qualities, punctuality, and active participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
Lecturer Prakash Upadhyaya administered the oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the Student Union.
Among those present on the dais were Assistant Professor Dr. Kotojirav R., Student Union General Secretary Sachin V.H., Joint Secretaries Chetan, Abhishek Gowli, and Shwetha.
The programme began with a prayer by student Neha and her team. The event was compered by Purnima, while Ashwini H.V. delivered the vote of thanks. Teaching and non-teaching staff, Student Union office-bearers, and a large number of students attended the programme.
