ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ತ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಬಾಲಕನಿಗೆ ದ್ವಿಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ (Bike) ಚಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ನೀಡಿದ ವಾಹನದ ಮಾಲೀಕನಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ₹27,000 ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (Shivamogga) ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಭದ್ರಾವತಿಯ ಹೊಳೆಹೊನ್ನೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ತ ಬಾಲಕನಿಗೆ ಬೈಕ್ ಚಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ನೀಡಿದ ಸಂಬಂಧ ವಾಹನದ ಮಾಲೀಕನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೊಳೆಹೊನ್ನೂರು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 2025ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಮೋಟಾರು ವಾಹನ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಕಲಂ 199(ಎ), 180 ಹಾಗೂ 196ರಡಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತನಿಖೆ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ತನಿಖೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡ ಬಳಿಕ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ವಾಹನದ ಮಾಲೀಕನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೊಳೆಹೊನ್ನೂರು (Holehonnur) ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಮಾನ್ಯ ಒಂದನೇ ಎಸಿಜೆ ಮತ್ತು ಜೆಎಂಎಫ್ಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ದೋಷಾರೋಪಣಾ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ
ಪ್ರಕರಣವು ಘನ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿ.ಸಿ. ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 4138/25ರ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವು ಬುಧವಾರ, ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 19, 2026ರಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿ ಆರೋಪಿಗೆ ₹27,000 ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸಿದೆ.

ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ತ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಬಾಲಕನಿಗೆ ವಾಹನ ಚಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಿದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಹನದ ಮಾಲೀಕನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಮೋಟಾರು ವಾಹನ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ವಿಧಿಗಳಡಿ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಪೋಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಾಹನ ಮಾಲೀಕರಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ
ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ತ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಬೈಕ್, ಸ್ಕೂಟರ್ ಅಥವಾ ಇತರ ಮೋಟಾರು ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ನೀಡುವುದು ಕಾನೂನುಬಾಹಿರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇಂತಹ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಹನದ ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ವಿಧಿಸಿರುವ ₹27 ಸಾವಿರ ದಂಡವು, ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ತ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನವರಿಗೆ ವಾಹನ ನೀಡುವ ವಾಹನ ಮಾಲೀಕರಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ತ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ರಸ್ತೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಪೋಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಾಹನ ಮಾಲೀಕರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಾಹನ ನೀಡುವ ಮೊದಲು ಅವರ ವಯಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾನೂನುಬದ್ಧ ಚಾಲನಾ ಅರ್ಹತೆಯನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
Shivamogga : Minor Rider Bike Owner Fined Rs 27000 In Holehonnoor
Shivamogga: A court has imposed a fine of ₹27,000 on a vehicle owner for allowing a minor boy to ride a motorcycle.
The case was registered at the Holehonnoor Police Station in 2025 against the vehicle owner for permitting an underage boy to drive the bike. Police booked the case under Sections 199(A), 180 and 196 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Following the investigation, the Holehonnoor Police filed a charge sheet before the Court of the First ACJ and JMFC.
Court Imposes ₹27,000 Fine
The case was taken up for trial as C.C. No. 4138/25. After hearing the matter, the court delivered its judgment on August 19, 2026, imposing a fine of ₹27,000 on the accused vehicle owner for allowing a minor to operate the motorcycle.
The judgment serves as a warning to vehicle owners and parents against allowing minors to drive or ride motor vehicles without the legally required age and licence.
Police Warn Vehicle Owners and Parents
Allowing underage children to operate motorcycles or other motor vehicles is a violation of the law and can result in legal action against the vehicle owner.
Police have urged parents and vehicle owners to ensure that minors are not given access to vehicles for driving or riding on public roads. They stressed that vehicle owners must verify the age and legal eligibility of a person before allowing them to operate a vehicle.
The police also reiterated the importance of strict compliance with traffic laws and road safety rules to prevent accidents and avoid legal consequences.
