Environment Month Celebration– 2022 at SAIL-VISL

Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant organized “Environment Month Celebration – 2022” from 19th November to 18th December 2022. Various activities were carried out during this month long programme.

The Inaugural function of Environment Month Celebration was held on 19th November 2022 in front of ISPAT Bhavan within the company premises. The programme began with unfurling of Environment Flag by Shri B L Chandwani, Executive Director of VISL, Followed by reading of Environment Policy and administering of Environment Pledge by senior Executives and concluded with a speech by Executive Director who emphasized on contributing our might individually & collectively for protecting of the environment.
As part of Environment month celebration – 2022 various competitions like Essay competition in English and Kannada, Environment Quiz, Sit & Draw competitions were organized for Executives, Non-Executives, Contract labours & School children to create awareness on environmental issues. Totally around 700 students, employees & contract labours participated n these competitions.

Valedictory function was held on 17th Dec at VISL Bhadra Guest House. Smt. Shobha Sivasankaran, General Manager (F & A) & Smt. Dulari Chandwani, President, Ispat Mahila Samaj were the Guests of honour. Smt. K. Shilpa, Environment Officer (I/c) Regional Office, Shivamogga was the Chief Guest. Shri V.M. Unnikrishnan, Senior Manager (Finance) rendered a melodious Invocation. Shri D Lokeshwara , General Manager (Environment Management Division) welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest appealed to everyone to have concern on Environmental issues during their day to day activities and make the world a better place to live in.
Chief Guest, Guests of Honour & General Manager (EMD) gave away the prizes to winners of various competitions. The programme concluded with Vote of thanks by Shri R Satish of Environment Management Department.
