1954ರಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಂಗಡಿ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವೈ.ವಿ. ವೆಂಕಟ ವರದಾಚಾರ್ಯ ಅವರು ಈ ಬೇಕರಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಬಾಲ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ ಬೇಕರಿ ವೃತ್ತಿಗೆ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಅವರು, ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಶೇಷ ಕೈಚಳಕದಿಂದ ಬೇಕರಿ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ತಂದರು.

Serving delicious and hygienic bakery products for the past 72 years, the bakery has won the hearts of people and is now stepping into a new era with modern upgrades.
From Establishment to Achievement
The bakery was established in 1954 on Doddangadi Street by V.V. Venkata Varadacharya. Taking on family responsibilities at a young age, he discontinued his Sanskrit education and entered the bakery trade. With his exceptional skill, he gave a unique identity to the bakery’s products.
For over seven decades, the bakery has served not only local customers but also people from across the country and abroad. It has built a loyal customer base through trust, warmth, and a family-like atmosphere.
Specialties of Sri Venkateshwara Bakery
The bakery is well known for its signature items:
- Garaga rotti and spicy rotti
- Bread, rusk, and khara bun
- Coconut, butter, om, and salt biscuits
- Boondi, roasted grams, and savory snacks

During the fever outbreak in 1958–60, the bakery, following the advice of renowned doctors, provided free bread and buns to many poor people. This act of service is still remembered with gratitude by the people of Chamarajanagar.

Earlier, all items were prepared using traditional wood-fired ovens. Today, production has shifted to modern techniques. Starting as early as 2:30 AM, the items were prepared with devotion and dedication, which contributed to their high demand.
