ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲು ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಾಗಿ, ಮಾನ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಲಶಕ್ತಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ವಿ. ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಅವರು ಇಂದು ತಿಪಟೂರು ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಮೆಮು ರೈಲು (MEMU Train) ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ವಿಶೇಷ ರೈಲಿಗೆ ಹಸಿರು ನಿಶಾನೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಹೊಸ ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನು ಸುಧಾರಿಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಮೆಮು ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಭಾಗವು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದ್ದು, ವೇಗವಾದ, ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಲಭ ಸಂಚಾರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳು, ಸಣ್ಣ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುವ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಈ ಸೇವೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಲಿದೆ.
MEMU Train | ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿ
ರೈಲು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 66505 ಯಲಹಂಕ–ಅರಸೀಕೆರೆ ಮೆಮು ರೈಲು 2026ರ ಜುಲೈ 14ರಿಂದ ದೈನಂದಿನವಾಗಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸಲಿದ್ದು, ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 06:45ಕ್ಕೆ ಯಲಹಂಕದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 11:00ಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸೀಕೆರೆಗೆ ತಲುಪಲಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವ ರೈಲು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 66506 ಅರಸೀಕೆರೆ–ಯಲಹಂಕ ಮೆಮು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 14:10ಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟು ಸಂಜೆ 19:15ಕ್ಕೆ ಯಲಹಂಕ ತಲುಪಲಿದೆ. ಈ ವೇಳಾಪಟ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಮಧ್ಯಂತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸುಲಭ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದ ಅವಕಾಶ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಲಿದೆ.

ಸಚಿವ ವಿ. ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಧುನೀಕರಿಸುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಅಮೃತ ಭಾರತ್ ಸ್ಟೇಷನ್ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ದೇಶದ ವಿವಿಧ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಹೊಸ ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಪರಿಚಯವು ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಅನುಭವ ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ಅಮೃತ ಭಾರತ್ ಸ್ಟೇಷನ್ ಯೋಜನೆ – ತಿಪಟೂರು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ
ತಿಪಟೂರು ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಅಮೃತ ಭಾರತ್ ಸ್ಟೇಷನ್ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ₹23.37 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಗ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಕಟ್ಟಡದ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆ, ಆಧುನಿಕ ಪ್ಲಾಟ್ಫಾರ್ಮ್ ಶೆಲ್ಟರ್ಗಳು, 12 ಮೀಟರ್ ಅಗಲದ ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆ (3 ಲಿಫ್ಟ್ಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ 2 ಎಸ್ಕಲೇಟರ್ಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ), ಸುಧಾರಿತ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಣಾ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳು, ಶೌಚಾಲಯಗಳ ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ, ವಾಹನ ನಿಲುಗಡೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಚಾರ ಸುಧಾರಣೆ, ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಸ್ಕೇಪಿಂಗ್, ಎಲ್ಇಡಿ ಬೆಳಕು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಉಳಿದವು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ.
ರಸ್ತೆ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು
ರೈಲು ಮತ್ತು ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸುಗಮಗೊಳಿಸಲು ತಿಪಟೂರು ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ರಸ್ತೆ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಾರದಾನಗರ ಹಾಲ್ಟ್ ಸಮೀಪದ ಲೆವೆಲ್ ಕ್ರಾಸಿಂಗ್ ಗೇಟ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 86ರ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ₹89.32 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ತಿಪಟೂರು–ಚಿಕ್ಕನಾಯಕನಹಳ್ಳಿ–ಹಾಸನ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನು ಸುಧಾರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದೇ ರೀತಿ, ಹೊನ್ನಾವಳ್ಳಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ಗೇಟ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 88ರ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ₹29.74 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ತಿಪಟೂರು–ಹೊನ್ನಾವಳ್ಳಿ–ಕೊನೇಹಳ್ಳಿ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಬಲಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆಗಳು ಲೆವೆಲ್ ಕ್ರಾಸಿಂಗ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾಗುವ ವಾಹನ ದಟ್ಟಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಳಂಬವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ರಸ್ತೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ, ನಿರಂತರ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಗಮ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರವಾಗಲಿವೆ.
ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ
ಹೊಸ ಮೆಮು ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆ, ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳ ಆಧುನೀಕರಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವಹಿಸಲಿವೆ. ರೈಲು ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಹಾಗೂ ನಗರ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿ, ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಲಿದೆ.
ಈ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಪಟೂರು ವಿಧಾನಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಶಾಸಕ ಕೆ. ಶಡಾಕ್ಷರಿ, ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಭಾಗದ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಶಮ್ಮಾಸ್ ಹಮೀದ್, ಇತರ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ, ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಭಾಗವು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ, ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ತನ್ನ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದೆ.
MEMU Special Train Launched at Tiptur Railway Station
In a significant step towards strengthening rail connectivity in the state, Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, Shri V. Somanna, today flagged off a new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) inaugural special train at Tiptur Railway Station. The new service is expected to enhance regional connectivity and provide greater convenience to daily commuters.
The MEMU service has been introduced by the Mysuru Division of South Western Railway with the objective of offering faster, safer, and more convenient travel. It is expected to particularly benefit students, employees, small traders, and the general public who rely on daily commuting.
Train Schedule
Train No. 66505 Yelahanka–Arsikere MEMU will operate daily from July 14, 2026, departing Yelahanka at 06:45 AM and arriving at Arsikere at 11:00 AM. The return service, Train No. 66506 Arsikere–Yelahanka MEMU, will depart at 02:10 PM and reach Yelahanka at 07:15 PM. This schedule is expected to improve accessibility for passengers in intermediate regions.
Minister’s Address
Speaking on the occasion, Shri V. Somanna stated that the Government of India is committed to modernizing railway infrastructure and enhancing passenger amenities. He emphasized that under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, railway stations across the country are being upgraded, and the introduction of new train services will boost regional development while improving passenger experience.
Amrit Bharat Station Scheme – Tiptur Development
Tiptur Railway Station is being developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of ₹23.37 crore. The project includes expansion of the station building, modern platform shelters, a 12-meter-wide Foot Over Bridge equipped with 3 lifts and 2 escalators, upgraded waiting halls, modernization of toilets, improved parking and traffic management, landscaping, LED lighting, and enhanced passenger information systems. Several works have already been completed, while others are in progress.
Road Over Bridge Projects
To further improve rail and road connectivity, two major Road Over Bridge (ROB) projects are being implemented in the Tiptur region. Near Sharadanagar Halt, a ROB is being constructed at Level Crossing Gate No. 86 at a cost of ₹89.32 crore, improving connectivity between Tiptur, Chikkanayakanahalli, and Hassan. Similarly, near Honnavalli, another ROB is being built at Gate No. 88 at a cost of ₹29.74 crore, strengthening connectivity between Tiptur, Honnavalli, and Konehalli.
These projects are expected to reduce congestion and delays at level crossings, enhance road safety, and ensure smoother traffic movement.
Boost to Regional Development
The introduction of the MEMU train service, along with station modernization and infrastructure development projects, is expected to significantly contribute to regional economic growth. Improved rail connectivity will strengthen links between rural and urban areas, thereby supporting trade and employment opportunities.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA of Tiptur constituency Shri K. Shadakshari, Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Mysuru Division Shri Shammas Hameed, along with other public representatives and senior railway officials.
Through these initiatives, South Western Railway, Mysuru Division, has reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe, efficient, and passenger-friendly rail transport system.
