ದೇಶದ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಚಾಲಿತ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವ ಒಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾ ಗ್ರೀನ್ಟೆಕ್ ಲಿಮಿಟೆಡ್ (Olectra Greentech Ltd.), ಭಾರತದ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 4,000 ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಬಸ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಗೆ ಇಳಿಸಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಇವಿ ವಾಹನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಹಿಮಾಚಲ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸುಖವಿಂದರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಸುಖು ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮುಕೇಶ್ ಅಗ್ನಿಹೋತ್ರಿ ಅವರು ಒಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾದ 4,000ನೇ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಬಸ್ನ ಸಾಂಕೇತಿಕ ಕೀಲಿಕೈ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು. ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಹಿಮಾಚಲ ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ನಿಗಮದ ಪಡೆಗೆ 297 ಹೊಸ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಬಸ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಒಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾದ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಬಸ್ಗಳು ಇದುವರೆಗೆ 730 ಮಿಲಿಯನ್ಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹಸಿರು ಕಿಲೋ ಮೀಟರ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ರಮಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಿಂದ 6.5 ಲಕ್ಷ ಟನ್ಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾರ್ಬನ್ ಡೈಆಕ್ಸೈಡ್ (CO₂) ಹೊರಸೂಸುವಿಕೆ ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದಲ್ಲೂ ಒಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾದ ಶಬ್ದರಹಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯರಹಿತ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಬಸ್ಗಳು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಮುಂಬೈನ ಬೆಸ್ಟ್, ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಸ್ತೆ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ , ಪುಣೆಯ ಪಿಎಂಪಿಎಲ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಠಾಣೆ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ -ಟಿಎಂಸಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಒಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾ ಬಸ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಸುಗಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ, ಶಬ್ದರಹಿತ ಸಂಚಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯರಹಿತ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಂದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸ್ಪಂದನೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಒಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಮಹೇಶ್ ಬಾಬು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಕಂಪನಿಯ ಸಾಧನೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಭಾರತದ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಚಾಲಿತ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ದೇಶದ ಹಸಿರು ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಮುನ್ನಡೆ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

At a special ceremony held in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri symbolically received the keys to Olectra’s 4,000th electric bus. On the same occasion, 297 new electric buses were inducted into the fleet of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).
Olectra’s electric buses operating across India have collectively covered more than 730 million green kilometers, helping prevent over 650,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. This achievement is regarded as a major contribution toward building an environmentally friendly and sustainable public transportation system in the country.
In Maharashtra, Olectra’s silent and zero-emission electric buses are serving thousands of passengers every day. The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), and Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) have successfully integrated Olectra buses into their fleets. Passengers have responded positively to the buses for their smooth ride quality, quiet operation, and pollution-free service.
