ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ (Bengaluru) ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರಂ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮಾಲ್ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಸಬ್ ವೇಯನ್ನು ಅಂದಾಜು 5.5 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಖಾತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ವಿ. ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರಂನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮಾಲ್ ಹಿಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಸಬ್ವೇ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಶಂಕುಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರಂನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮಾಲ್ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಸಬ್ವೇಯನ್ನು ಅಂದಾಜು 5.5 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯಿಂದ ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಹಳಿ ದಾಟಲು ಸಹಾಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಕೆಂಗೇರಿ ಬಳಿ ರಾಮೋಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗೇಟ್’ನಲ್ಲಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ಕೆಳ ಸೇತುವೆ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ರಸ್ತೆ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ರಸ್ತೆ ಕೆಳ ಸೇತುವೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವನ್ನು ವೇಗಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಶೇ.100 ರಷ್ಟು ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವೇ ಭರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಕಂಟೋನ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ಅಂದಾಜು 485 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಯಶವಂತಪುರ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಪುನರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ಸಹ ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಯಲಹಂಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆಗಾ ಕೋಚಿಂಗ್ ಟರ್ಮಿನಲ್ ಅನ್ನು ಸಹ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ತುಮಕೂರು-ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಯದುರ್ಗ-ತುಮಕೂರು ಹೊಸ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆದ್ಯತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗತಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಕೋಲಾರ ನಡುವೆ ಹೊಸಕೋಟೆ, ನರಸಾಪುರ, ವೇಮಗಲ್ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ನೇರ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಅನುಕೂಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ರೈಲುಗಳಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ 37 ರೈಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಈಗ ನಿಯಮಿತ ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆಗಳಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಕಂಟೋನ್ಮೆಂಟ್-ವೈಟ್ ಫೀಲ್ಡ್ ಚತುಷ್ಪಥ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಚಾರ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಲು ಕೆಎಸ್’ಆರ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು-ತುಮಕೂರು ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಸಹ ಚತುಷ್ಪಥ ಹಳಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸಚಿವ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಬೈರೇಗೌಡ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಹೊಸ ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೂಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ವರಿತಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಂಸದ ಪಿ.ಸಿ. ಮೋಹನ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಸುರಂಗಮಾರ್ಗವು ಶ್ರೀರಾಂಪುರ, ಓಕಳಿಪುರ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಪಾಳ್ಯ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಕೂಲಕರ ಕ್ರಾಸಿಂಗ್ ಅನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಧುನೀಕರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಮರು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.
ಗಾಂಧಿನಗರ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶಾಸಕರಾದ ದಿನೇಶ್ ಗುಂಡೂರಾವ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಸಬ್ವೇ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಬಹುಕಾಲದ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಈಡೇರಿಸಿದಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಬ್ವೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನರು ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಹಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ದಾಟಲು ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ, ಅಪಘಾತಗಳ ಅಪಾಯವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮಾಲ್ ಹಿಂದೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಕಿಮೀ 1/300-400 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾದಚಾರಿ ಸಬ್ವೇಯನ್ನು ಅಂದಾಜು 5.5 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. 5 ಮೀ X 2.65 ಮೀ ಅಳತೆಯ ಈ ಸುರಂಗ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಹಳಿ ದಾಟಲು ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯಿಂದ ಶೇಷಾದ್ರಿಪುರಂ, ಓಕಳಿಪುರಂ, ಶ್ರೀರಾಂಪುರ ಮತ್ತು ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರಂ ಭಾಗದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲಿದೆ.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗದ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಕಾತರಕಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
Union Minister V. Somanna Lays Foundation Stone for Pedestrian Subway in Bengaluru
V. Somanna, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, laid the foundation stone for a new pedestrian subway behind Mantri Mall in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, today. The project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and improve connectivity in the area.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Krishna Byre Gowda, Hon’ble Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development, Government of Karnataka; P.C. Mohan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Bengaluru Central; Lahar Singh Siroya, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; Dinesh Gundu Rao, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly, Gandhinagar; Praveen Katarki, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru Division; along with other officials.
Addressing the gathering, V. Somanna stated that the pedestrian subway is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹5.5 crore. He emphasized that the facility will provide a safe and convenient crossing for pedestrians across railway tracks, help prevent trespassing, and significantly enhance public safety.
He further noted that the Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Ramohalli Gate near Kengeri is progressing well and is expected to be completed soon. To accelerate infrastructure development, the Central Government is bearing 100% of the cost for Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs).
Highlighting ongoing railway development in Karnataka, Somanna said that the redevelopment of Bengaluru Cantonment Station is underway at an approximate cost of ₹485 crore, while work at Yesvantpur Station is progressing rapidly. He also announced plans for a mega coaching terminal at Yelahanka.
The Minister added that the Tumakuru–Davangere and Rayadurga–Tumakuru railway line projects are being executed on priority. Additionally, a new direct railway line connecting Bengaluru and Kolar via Hosakote, Narasapura, and Vemagal is under planning.
For passenger convenience, 37 trains that were previously operated as special services have now been regularized. Somanna also mentioned that the Bengaluru Cantonment–Whitefield quadrupling project is nearing completion, and the KSR Bengaluru–Tumakuru railway line will be quadrupled to meet increasing traffic demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Byre Gowda highlighted the Karnataka Government’s proactive role in supporting railway projects by expediting land acquisition processes.
P.C. Mohan stated that the pedestrian subway would greatly benefit residents of Srirampura, Okalipura, and Swatantra Palya, particularly the working class, by ensuring a safer and more convenient crossing. He also appreciated the Central Government’s efforts in modernizing railway infrastructure across the country, especially in Karnataka.
Dinesh Gundu Rao noted that the project fulfills a long-pending demand of local residents. He emphasized that the subway will reduce accidents, improve safety, and enhance connectivity in the surrounding areas.
The pedestrian subway, to be constructed at Railway Km 1/300–400 behind Mantri Mall, will measure 5 m x 2.65 m. It is expected to significantly improve safety, connectivity, and ease of movement for residents of Seshadripuram, Okalipuram, Srirampura and Malleswaram, while also supporting safer train operations.
