To facilitate passenger movement during the upcoming Onam festival, South Western Railway has announced the operation of special express trains between Mysuru, Kannur, and Bengaluru Cantonment. A total of two trips will be operated in each direction.
Onam Festival Special Trains
Train No. 06227 Mysuru–Kannur Special Express will depart from Mysuru at 10:30 PM on August 25, 2026 (Tuesday) and reach Kannur at 2:00 PM the following day.
In the return direction, Train No. 06228 Kannur–Bengaluru Cantonment Special Express will leave Kannur at 6:25 PM on August 26, 2026 (Wednesday) and arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 8:35 AM the next day.
Similarly, Train No. 06229 Mysuru–Kannur Special Express will depart from Mysuru at 11:55 PM on August 29, 2026 (Saturday) and reach Kannur at 5:50 PM the following day.
The return service, Train No. 06230 Kannur–Bengaluru Cantonment Special Express, will depart Kannur at 7:45 PM on August 30, 2026 (Sunday) and arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 10:00 AM the next day.

En route, these special trains will halt at Mandya, KRS Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet Junction, Salem Junction, Erode Junction, Tiruppur, Podanur Junction, Palakkad Junction, Shoranur Junction, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, and Thalassery.
Each train will consist of 20 coaches, including one AC Two Tier coach, two AC Three Tier coaches, nine Sleeper Class coaches, six General Second Class coaches, and two luggage-cum-brake vans.
Railway authorities have advised passengers to make use of these special services to avoid last-minute travel rush during the festive season.
