ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಯ ಘೋಷಣೆಯ ಬೆನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ (Congress Politics) ಪಕ್ಷದೊಳಗೆ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಹೊಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳತೊಡಗಿದೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಡಿ.ಕೆ. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 20 ಶಾಸಕರು ಸಚಿವರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇಂದು ಸಂಜೆ 4.05 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ರಾಜಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಚನ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಸಚಿವ ಸ್ಥಾನದ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಹಲವು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಶಾಸಕರಿಗೆ ನಿರಾಸೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಸಾಗರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಶಾಸಕ ಬೇಳೂರು ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ತೀವ್ರ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಚಿವ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಬೇಳೂರು ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಯನ್ನು “ಮೋಸ” ಎಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದ್ದು, ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಗಂಭೀರ ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪಕ್ಷದ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ವಿರುದ್ಧವೂ ಅವರು ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
“ಕೊನೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣದವರೆಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಇತ್ತು”
ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಕೊನೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣದವರೆಗೂ ಸಚಿವ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಸಿಗುವ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

“ನಿನ್ನೆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ತನಕ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರು ಇತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಇಂದು ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಬದಲಾಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು. ಯಾವ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡಲಾಯಿತು ಎಂಬುದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಅವಕಾಶ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕೊನೆಯ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಭಾರೀ ನಿರಾಸೆಯಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಬೇಸರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.

“ಸಂಪುಟ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ತಮಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದವರನ್ನೇ ಸಚಿವರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮಂತಹ ಹಿರಿಯ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಷ್ಠಾವಂತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನನಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ತಮ್ಮ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಯಾವುದೇ ಒತ್ತಡದ ರಾಜಕೀಯವಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಶಾಸಕ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು.
“ಇದು ಒತ್ತಡ ತಂತ್ರ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಸಚಿವರ ಹೆಸರು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೆಲವೇ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಚನವೂ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅಥವಾ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರನ್ನಾದರೂ ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಾಳೆ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ಶಾಸಕ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು.

ಶಾಸಕ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಿಗೂ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ನಾಯಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರೂ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವರು ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಪಡೆಯದ ಹಲವು ಶಾಸಕರು ಮೌನ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬೆನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ, ಬೇಳೂರು ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅವರ ಬಹಿರಂಗ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ಗೆ ಹೊಸ ತಲೆನೋವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿದೆ. ಸಚಿವ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗುವುದು ರಾಜಕೀಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾದರೂ, ಶಾಸಕ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಘೋಷಿಸುವ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿರುವುದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ರಾಜಕೀಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಸವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅವರ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಹೈಕಮಾಂಡ್ಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಸವಾಲಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ಈ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ನಿಭಾಯಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಕುತೂಹಲ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷದೊಳಗಿನ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳು ಯಾವ ತಿರುವು ಪಡೆಯಲಿವೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಲಯದ ಗಮನ ನೆಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
Cabinet Expansion : Congress MLA Belur Gopalakrishna Announces Resignation
Bengaluru/Shivamogga: Discontent has erupted within the Karnataka Congress following the announcement of the state cabinet expansion under Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. While 20 MLAs have been inducted into the ministry and are scheduled to take oath at 4:05 p.m. today, several legislators who were expecting ministerial berths have expressed disappointment.
Among them, Sagar constituency MLA Belur Gopalakrishna has openly revolted against the party leadership, alleging that he was deliberately ignored during the cabinet formation. Calling the cabinet expansion a “betrayal,” the Congress legislator announced that he would resign from his MLA post on Tuesday, August 4.
Speaking to reporters, Gopalakrishna said he had remained hopeful of securing a ministerial position until the final stages of the selection process.
“My name was on the list until last night. By this morning, everything had changed. I do not know why my name was removed. I met all the senior leaders and requested them for an opportunity. I genuinely believed I would be included, but I was disappointed at the last moment,” he said.
Accusing the party leadership of favouritism, the MLA claimed that only a select group of leaders had been accommodated in the cabinet.
“This cabinet expansion is a betrayal. Only those preferred by the leadership have been inducted into the ministry, while loyal and deserving leaders like us have been deliberately sidelined. I have been treated unfairly, and I cannot continue to remain silent,” Gopalakrishna alleged.
He categorically ruled out holding any further discussions with Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar or other senior Congress leaders.
“The list of ministers has already been announced, and the swearing-in ceremony is about to take place. There is no question of meeting anyone now. This is not a pressure tactic. I will definitely submit my resignation as an MLA at 10 a.m. tomorrow,” he declared.
Apart from resigning as an MLA, Gopalakrishna also announced that he would step down from all party positions. He further claimed that several Congress leaders and workers are unhappy with the cabinet expansion and that some are also prepared to resign.
The cabinet expansion has triggered visible dissatisfaction within the ruling Congress, with several aspirants reportedly upset over being left out. Gopalakrishna’s public rebellion and resignation announcement have intensified speculation over internal differences in the party.
Political observers believe the development poses a fresh challenge for the Congress leadership, which will now have to manage growing resentment among party legislators. The coming days are expected to be crucial in determining whether the discontent remains confined to individual leaders or develops into a wider political issue within the ruling party.
