ಆಟೋ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಂದ ನಿಗದಿತ ದರಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಶುಲ್ಕ ವಸೂಲಿ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಗದಿತ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋ ಸೇವೆ ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ (Shivamogga) ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಶಿವಪ್ಪನಾಯಕನ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋ ಪ್ರೀ-ಪೇಯ್ಡ್ ಕೌಂಟರ್ಗೆ (PrePaid Auto Counter) ಶನಿವಾರ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಪೂರ್ವ ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ರೂರಲ್ ಡೆವಲಪ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ, ಭೀಮ ಗೋಲ್ಡ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ಆಟೋ ಪ್ರೀ-ಪೇಯ್ಡ್ ಕೌಂಟರ್ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕ ಬಿ. ನಿಖಿಲ್ ಅವರು ಕೌಂಟರ್ಗೆ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಆಟೋ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ನಿಗದಿತ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ದೊರೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಶುಲ್ಕ ವಸೂಲಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಬಹುದಾದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಈ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಆಟೋ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕತೆ ದೊರೆಯಲಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಗಮವಾಗಲಿದೆ.

ನಗರದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವೃತ್ತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದ ಶಿವಪ್ಪನಾಯಕನ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿರುವ ಪ್ರೀ-ಪೇಯ್ಡ್ ಕೌಂಟರ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಗಮ್ಯಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಗದಿತ ದರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋ ಸೇವೆ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಈ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಆಟೋ ಚಾಲಕರ ನಡುವೆ ದರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಬಹುದಾದ ಗೊಂದಲಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕ ಕಾರಿಯಪ್ಪ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ‘ಬಿ’ ಉಪವಿಭಾಗದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಉಪಾಧೀಕ್ಷಕ ಸಂಜುಕುಮಾರ್, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಸಂಚಾರ ವೃತ್ತದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ದೇವರಾಜ್ ಟಿ.ವಿ., ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ಮುಲ್ಲಾ, ಪೂರ್ವ ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಉಪನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕಿ ಭಾರತಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಠಾಣೆಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ, ಭೀಮ ಗೋಲ್ಡ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
Shivamogga : Auto Pre-Paid Counter Inaugurated at Shivappa Nayaka Circle
Shivamogga: An Auto Pre-Paid Counter was officially inaugurated at Shivappa Nayaka Circle in Shivamogga on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with the objective of providing passengers with transparent and fixed-fare auto-rickshaw services and preventing overcharging.
The pre-paid counter has been established within the jurisdiction of the Shivamogga East Traffic Police Station through a joint initiative of the Police Department, Shivamogga Rural Development Society and the Transport Department, with support from Bheema Gold.
Shivamogga District Superintendent of Police Nikhil B., IPS, officially inaugurated the Auto Pre-Paid Counter.
The initiative is aimed at ensuring that passengers are charged fares according to the prescribed rates and are protected from being overcharged. The facility is also expected to make auto-rickshaw travel safer, more convenient and hassle-free for commuters.
The pre-paid system at Shivappa Nayaka Circle will enable passengers to access auto services at predetermined fares, thereby reducing disputes and confusion between passengers and auto-rickshaw drivers regarding fares. The initiative is expected to improve transparency and promote a more organised auto service system in the city.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kariyappa, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shivamogga ‘B’ Sub-Division Sanjukumar, Shivamogga Traffic Circle Police Inspector T.V. Devaraj, Akbar Mulla, East Traffic Police Station Sub-Inspector Bharathi, along with police personnel, officials and staff of Bheema Gold, were present at the inauguration.
