ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ (SWR) ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು (Bangalore) ವಿಭಾಗದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಎಂ.ಜಿ. ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಕಾಲೋನಿಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ 80ನೇ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಹಾಗೂ ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಭಾವನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ (ಡಿಆರ್ಎಂ) ಆಶುತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಪಡೆ (ಆರ್ಪಿಎಫ್), ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಸ್ಕೌಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗೈಡ್ಸ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ತಂಡಗಳ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಪರೇಡ್ ಅನ್ನು ಅವರು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಶಾಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಏಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಕಲಾತ್ಮಕ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾಯಿತು.
ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳ ವಿವರ
ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಡಿಆರ್ಎಂ ಆಶುತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗವು ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ, ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ರೈಲು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ, ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಸೇವೆ, ಡಿಜಿಟಲೀಕರಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಸರ ಸುಸ್ಥಿರತೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಿರುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಲಹಂಕ–ಧರ್ಮಾವರಂ ನಡುವಿನ 161 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈಲುಗಳ ಗರಿಷ್ಠ ವೇಗವನ್ನು ಗಂಟೆಗೆ 130 ಕಿ.ಮೀ.ಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರದ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ 9 ಲೆವೆಲ್ ಕ್ರಾಸಿಂಗ್ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಒಟ್ಟು 13 ರಸ್ತೆ ಕೆಳಸೇತುವೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿವಿಧ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 174 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಉದ್ದದ ಸುರಕ್ಷತಾ ಬೇಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಸರಕು ಸಾಗಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಕಾಲಿಕ ದಾಖಲೆ
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗವು ಸರಕು ಸಾಗಣೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. 2025-26ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ 2,681 ರೇಕ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಲೋಡ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಾರ್ವಕಾಲಿಕ ಗರಿಷ್ಠ ದಾಖಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 2.13 ಮಿಲಿಯನ್ ಟನ್ ಸರಕು ಸಾಗಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಡಿಆರ್ಎಂ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಿಭಾಗವು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ್ದು, 110 ದಶಲಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗದ ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ₹2,429 ಕೋಟಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಆದಾಯ ಗಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು 106 ರೈಲುಗಳ ವೇಗವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಬ್ಬಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ರಜಾ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುವ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ದಟ್ಟಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಭಾಯಿಸಲು 4,706 ವಿಶೇಷ ರೈಲು ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಕೆಎಸ್ಆರ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಎಂ-ಯುಟಿಎಸ್ ಸಹಾಯಕ’
ಡಿಜಿಟಲೀಕರಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಯ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕವಾಗಿ ‘ಎಂ-ಯುಟಿಎಸ್ (M-UTS) ಸಹಾಯಕ’ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಎಸ್ಆರ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಶುತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರಿಗೆ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಸಂಬಂಧಿತ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಪಡೆಯಲು ನೆರವಾಗುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಅನುಭವವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸುಧಾರಿಸಲು ವಿಭಾಗ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
18 ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ
ಅಮೃತ್ ಭಾರತ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗದಾದ್ಯಂತ 18 ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆಧುನಿಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳು, ಉತ್ತಮ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಧಾರಿತ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಪರಿಸರ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿವೆ.
ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಕಂಟೋನ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ₹485 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಯಶವಂತಪುರ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣವನ್ನು ₹378 ಕೋಟಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನರ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿ ಉಪಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಡಿಆರ್ಎಂ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ವಿಭಾಗದ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 30,000 ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 100 ಕೆ.ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯು.ಪಿ. ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಸೌರ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯಾರಂಭಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇನ್ನೂ 8 ಮೆಗಾವ್ಯಾಟ್ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಸೌರ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಯೋಜನೆ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೂ ಸಮಾನ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇಂಧನ ಉಳಿತಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ನವೀಕರಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಇಂಧನ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಭಾಗ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
‘ಹರ್ ಘರ್ ತಿರಂಗಾ’ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳ ವಿಜೇತರಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನ
ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ‘ಹರ್ ಘರ್ ತಿರಂಗಾ’ ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳ ವಿಜೇತರಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ (SWRWWO), ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು, ಬ್ರೆಡ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕ ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ಪರಿಕ್ಷಿತ್ ಮೋಹನ್ಪುರಿಯಾ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ಕಾತರಕಿ, ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ಶ್ರೇಯಾನ್ಸ್ ಚಿಂಚವಾಡೆ, ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಉಮಾ ಶರ್ಮಾ, ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗ) ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ರೀನಾ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ನೈಋತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು, ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಪಡೆದ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ, ದೇಶದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪದೊಂದಿಗೆ 80ನೇ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು.
SWR : DRM Ashutosh Kumar Singh Highlights Major Achievements
BENGALURU: The Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at the Railway Ground, MG Railway Colony, Bengaluru.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ashutosh Kumar Singh unfurled the National Flag and inspected the ceremonial parade comprising contingents of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), students, Scouts and Guides, and other participants. School students presented a series of cultural programmes, adding colour and patriotic spirit to the celebrations.
Addressing the gathering, DRM Ashutosh Kumar Singh highlighted the Division’s major achievements in railway safety, infrastructure development, operations, passenger services, digitalisation and sustainability.
Rail Safety and Infrastructure Get Major Boost
The DRM said that the sectional speed on the 161-km Yelahanka–Dharmavaram stretch has been enhanced to 130 kmph, improving connectivity and reducing travel time.
As part of ongoing safety initiatives, nine level crossings have been eliminated, while 13 Road Under Bridges (RUBs) have been commissioned. Nearly 174 km of safety fencing has also been completed across the Division.
Record Freight Loading and Passenger Revenue
The Bengaluru Division recorded its highest-ever freight loading of 2,681 rakes in 2025–26, carrying approximately 2.13 million tonnes of freight, marking an increase of more than 20%.
The Division also handled nearly 110 million passengers, generating passenger revenue of ₹2,429 crore, reflecting the strong demand for rail services in the Bengaluru region.
To improve connectivity and reduce travel time, the speed of 106 trains has been enhanced. During festivals and holiday periods, the Division operated 4,706 special train trips to meet the additional demand from passengers.
New Vande Bharat Services Strengthen Connectivity
The Division has further strengthened its premium train connectivity with the introduction of two new Vande Bharat Express services — Belagavi–Bengaluru and Bengaluru–Ernakulam.
An Amrit Bharat train service has also been introduced, taking the total number of Vande Bharat services serving the Bengaluru Division to nine.
18 Stations Being Developed Under Amrit Bharat Scheme
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, as many as 18 railway stations across the Bengaluru Division are being developed with improved passenger amenities and modern infrastructure.
Major redevelopment projects are also underway at Bengaluru Cantonment and Yesvantpur railway stations. The Bengaluru Cantonment Station is being redeveloped at an estimated cost of ₹485 crore, while the Yesvantpur Station is being developed at a cost of ₹378 crore.
Focus on Green Energy and Sustainability
Highlighting the Division’s environmental initiatives, the DRM said around 30,000 trees have been planted as part of Bengaluru’s Mega Tree Plantation Drive.
Renewable energy is also receiving special attention. A 100 kWp solar power plant has already been commissioned, while another 8 MW of solar power projects are currently under execution.
These initiatives are aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of railway operations and promoting sustainable infrastructure across the Division.
Har Ghar Tiranga Competition Winners Felicitated
As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, various competitions were organised for railway employees and their families. Prizes were subsequently distributed to the winners during the Independence Day celebrations.
On the occasion, the South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO), Bengaluru Division, distributed fruits, bread and other nutritious food items to patients at the Divisional Railway Hospital, Bengaluru.
Senior Railway Officials Attend Celebrations
The programme was attended by Additional Divisional Managers Parikshit Mohanpuria and Praveen Kataraki; Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Shreyans Chinchwade; Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Smt. Uma Sharma; and President of SWRWWO, Bengaluru Division, Smt. Reena Singh.
Senior railway officers, staff members, their family members, representatives of the South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation, recognised trade unions and other associations were also present.
The Independence Day celebrations concluded with a renewed commitment towards strengthening railway safety, modernising infrastructure, improving passenger services and advancing sustainable development across the Bengaluru Division.
