ನಟಿ ತ್ರಿಷಾ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿ ದ್ವಂದ್ವಾರ್ಥದ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪದ ಬೆನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡು ವಿರೋಧ ಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಡಿಎಂಕೆ (DMK) ನಾಯಕ ಉದಯನಿಧಿ ಸ್ಟಾಲಿನ್ (Udhayanidhi Stalin Detained) ಅವರನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕಾವೇರಿ ಜಲ ವಿವಾದದ ಕುರಿತು ತಂಜಾವೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಡಿಎಂಕೆ ಆಯೋಜಿತ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉದಯನಿಧಿ ಸ್ಟಾಲಿನ್ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ವೇಳೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರೀ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ವಿಜಯ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ತಮಿಳಾಗ ವೆಟ್ರಿ ಕಳಗಂ (TVK) ಪಕ್ಷ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಈ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದವು.

ವಿವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ಏನು?
ತಂಜಾವೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನೀರಿನ ಬಿಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಕುರಿತ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಉದಯನಿಧಿ ಸ್ಟಾಲಿನ್, ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ವಿಜಯ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಟೀಕಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾವೇರಿ ನೀರಿನ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮೌನವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಡಿಎಂಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲೇ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನಿರತವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವಾಗ್ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
“ನಾನು ಯಾವುದೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನೂ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರದ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಂತಿಮ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ನೀಡಲಿದೆ”.

ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲವರು ನಟಿ ತ್ರಿಷಾ ಅವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿದರು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದ ಉದಯನಿಧಿ ಅವರು ನಗುತ್ತಾ, “ಯಾವ ನೀರು ಬರುತ್ತದೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ, ಆ ನೀರು ಬರಲೇಬೇಕು” ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥ ಬರುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಈ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವೈರಲ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿ ತ್ರಿಷಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪರೋಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಹಿಳೆಯ ಗೌರವಕ್ಕೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆ ತರುವಂತಹ ದ್ವಂದ್ವಾರ್ಥವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಟಿವಿಕೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದವು.
ಟಿವಿಕೆ ದೂರಿನ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮ
ಟಿವಿಕೆ ಪಕ್ಷದ ದೂರಿನ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ಉದಯನಿಧಿ ಸ್ಟಾಲಿನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆದು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಂಧನದ ವೇಳೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿದ ಉದಯನಿಧಿ, “ನಾನು ಯಾವುದೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನೂ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರದ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಂತಿಮ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ನೀಡಲಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣವು ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಡಿಎಂಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಟಿವಿಕೆ ನಡುವೆ ವಾಗ್ವಾದ ತೀವ್ರಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
Udhayanidhi Stalin Arrested
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Opposition Leader and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has been arrested by police following allegations that he made controversial and double-meaning remarks allegedly referring to actress Trisha Krishnan during a protest meeting on the Cauvery water dispute in Thanjavur.
The issue has triggered a major political controversy in Tamil Nadu, with the ruling opposition alliance parties, including Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), strongly objecting to the remarks and demanding legal action.
Controversy Over Remarks at Cauvery Protest Meeting
The controversy erupted during a DMK-organised protest meeting in Thanjavur regarding the Cauvery water-sharing dispute. While addressing the gathering, Udhayanidhi Stalin criticised Chief Minister Joseph Vijay’s government over the Cauvery water issue.
“I have not committed any mistake. I did not mention anyone’s name except the Chief Minister. This is a politically motivated action. The final decision will be taken by the court.”.

During his speech, Udhayanidhi alleged that the government was focusing on filing cases against the DMK instead of addressing the Cauvery water crisis.
Meanwhile, some people from the crowd reportedly started chanting actress Trisha’s name. Responding to the slogans, Udhayanidhi made a statement that was interpreted by several political groups as a double entendre allegedly targeting the actress.
The remarks soon went viral on social media, leading to widespread criticism. Several parties accused him of making a statement that was disrespectful towards a woman and demanded strict action.
TVK Complaint Leads to Police Action
Based on a complaint filed by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), police registered a case and took Udhayanidhi Stalin into custody before arresting him.
Speaking to the media during his arrest, Udhayanidhi Stalin denied the allegations and said, “I have not committed any mistake. I did not mention anyone’s name except the Chief Minister. This is a politically motivated action. The final decision will be taken by the court.”
The arrest has intensified the political debate in Tamil Nadu, with the DMK and TVK engaging in a war of words over the issue. The matter is now expected to be decided through legal proceedings.
