ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ತಿಳಿಯದೇ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂದಾಚಾರ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಕೈಬಿಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ವಿಷಾದನೀಯ. ಪಾರಂಪರಿಕ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಹಿಂದಿರುವ ತಾತ್ವಿಕ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಾಪುರ ಮಠದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಶ್ವರ ಭಾರತೀ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಅವರು ಜುಲೈ 27ರಂದು ಗೋಕರ್ಣದ ಅಶೋಕೆಯ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ನಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಪೂರ್ವಸಿದ್ಧತಾ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಮಠಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನೂ ಭಗವಂತನೆಂದು ಕಾಣಬೇಕು. ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ-ಬಡ ಎಂಬ ಬೇಧಭಾವವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಿ, ಅವರು ಸಂತೃಪ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರದ್ದೆಂದು ಶ್ರೀಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಇಂದು ಆಹಾರ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಊಟದ ವಿಧಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಲೋಪಗಳಿವೆ. ನಾವು ಏನು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಹ-ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಆಹಾರ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆಚರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನರುಜ್ಜೀವನಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರ ಪ್ರಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ತತ್ತ್ವ ಸಂವಾದಗಳು, ಜ್ಞಾನ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಾಜ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳು ನಡೆಯಲಿವೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಠದ ಪ್ರಶಾಸನಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಹೆಗಡೆ, ವಿತ್ತಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಜೆ.ಎಲ್., ಶಾಸನತಂತ್ರದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಕೆ.ಪಿ. ಎಡಪ್ಪಾಡಿ, ಹವ್ಯಕ ಮಹಾಮಂಡಲದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಹರಿಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಪೆರಿಯಾಪು, ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮಹೇಶ್ ಚಟ್ನಳ್ಳಿ, ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಸುವರ್ಣಗದ್ದೆ, ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸಂಯೋಜಕ ಚಂದನ್ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಮುಖರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಅನ್ನಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ
ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಅನ್ನಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯವು ಗೋಕರ್ಣದ ಅಶೋಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಮಠದ ಪರಿಸರದಲ್ಲಿ ಜುಲೈ 29ರಿಂದ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 26ರವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಜುಲೈ 29ರಂದು ವ್ಯಾಸಪೂಜೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ 33ನೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯವು ಗುರುಗಳಿಗೆ ವ್ರತವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಶಿಷ್ಯಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಹಬ್ಬದಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ವಿಷಯಾಧಾರಿತವಾಗಿ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಾಪುರ ಮಠದ ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಆಹಾರದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಶ್ರೀಗಳೇ ನಡೆಸುವ ಪ್ರವಚನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭೋಜನವೆಂಬ ತಪಸ್ಸು, ಆಹಾರ ಸೇವನೆಯ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಸಮಯ, ಜಲಪಾನದ ನಿಯಮಗಳು, ಉಪವಾಸದ ಮಹತ್ವ, ಭೋಜನದ ಬಳಿಕ ಪಾಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಕ್ರಮಗಳು, ಭೋಜನ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಚರ್ಚೆಯಾಗಲಿವೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ವಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದ ಆಹಾರವೂ ವಿಶೇಷ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ.
ಧಾನ್ಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಪೂಜೆ
ಅನ್ನಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಶಿಷ್ಯಭಕ್ತರು ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಧಾನ್ಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಗೆ ಜುಲೈ 26ರಂದು ಪೂಜೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಜಗದ್ಗುರು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಶ್ವರ ಭಾರತೀ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಪೂಜೆ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಮಟಾ ಶಾಸಕ ದಿನಕರ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ಗಣ್ಯರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ರಾಜ್ಯದಾದ್ಯಂತದ ಶ್ರೀಮಠದ ಮಂಡಲಗಳು, ಅಂಗಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಭಕ್ತರಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್ಯದ ಸಾರ್ಥಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿತು.
Gokarna | Chaturmasya begins on July 29 with Vyasa Puja
Gokarna: Emphasising the need to revive awareness about ancient traditions, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Mahaswamiji of Sri Ramachandrapura Math said that many people are abandoning traditional practices due to a lack of understanding about their scientific and philosophical foundations.
He was addressing volunteers during a preparatory meeting held on July 27, 2026, at Ashokavana in Gokarna as part of the upcoming Annabrahma Chaturmasya. The seer stressed that every person visiting the Math must be treated as divine, without discrimination between rich and poor, and that it is the responsibility of volunteers to ensure all devotees leave with satisfaction.
Highlighting the importance of food habits, he noted that there are several shortcomings in modern dietary practices. “What we eat and how we eat have a profound impact on our physical and mental well-being. There is a need to reintroduce our traditional food culture and practices,” he said.
This year’s Chaturmasya will be observed as a “thought-oriented” spiritual programme, featuring philosophical dialogues and awareness initiatives. The seer expressed happiness over the enthusiastic response from devotees across regions including Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Mangaluru and Bengaluru.
Prominent attendees at the event included Math administrator Santosh Hegde, Finance Head Ganesh J.L., Legislative Secretary K.P. Edappadi, Havyaka Mahamandala President Hariprasad Periyapu, Secretary Mahesh Chatnalli, Manjunath Suvarnagadde, and Chief Coordinator Chandan Shastri, among others.
Annabrahma Chaturmasya from July 29
The Annabrahma Chaturmasya will be held from July 29 to September 26, 2026, at the Ashokavana premises of the Gokarna Moola Math. The seer will undertake his 33rd Chaturmasya vow with the ceremonial Vyasa Puja on July 29.
While Chaturmasya is a sacred observance for spiritual leaders, it is celebrated as a festival by devotees. The Math has been uniquely organising theme-based Chaturmasya programmes each year to promote social awareness.
This year’s focus is on food awareness. Daily discourses by the seer will cover topics such as mindful eating as a form of spiritual discipline, the right time to eat, water consumption practices, the purpose of food, fasting, post-meal discipline, and the significance of traditional utensils. Traditional food preparations will also be a highlight of the event.
Dhanya Lakshmi Puja Performed
As part of the preparations, Dhanya Lakshmi Puja was performed on July 26, for the grains offered by devotees from across the state for the Annabrahma Chaturmasya.
The puja was conducted by Jagadguru Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Mahaswamiji in the presence of several dignitaries, including Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty. Contributions from various Math units, affiliated organisations, and devotees added to the significance of the upcoming Chaturmasya.
